Zelensky’s spinmeister Aristovich celebrating every Russian missile strike because “that’s one less missile for Russia.” What a war-winning mindset!
The article plays fast and loose with history. While Churchill was no saint and he was an advocate of bombing civilians the bombing referenced in the article occurred in 1944. The Germans began bombing London in 1940. From the article: The German bombing of London
Hmm, well it seems like he should be asked to provide some credentials if he is claiming to be an expert on military history (especially if you are using that claim as some sort of an appeal to authority). Does he not do that and just made an unsubstantiated claim that he is a "military historian?"
Churchill was a mass-murderer and possibly the primary belligerent in both world wars. Further, in his book Bombing Vindicated, J.M. Spaight, then Principal Secretary of the Air Ministry, attested that not only did England’s ‘area bombing’ predates Germany’s but proudly asserted that terror bombing was a British idea. Bonus: so were concentration camps. But hey, history is written by the victors.
I guess that is a "no, he doesn't." Then you should probably not make that claim that is what he is. Reminds me a bit of when a guy who owned a swing set business claimed to be a mathematician in legal fillings about the election because he once audited a math class at a college. BTW, wasn't he the one that claimed that Ukrainians were being trapped and would be slaughtered in the town they took less than 24 hours later from retreating Russians?
I don’t remember that. I do remember him cautiously predicting that Ukraine’s frenzied counter-offensives would come at great cost to them. He was undoubtedly correct about that.
No, he is a Hitler. There are differences between the two situations. Hitler probably knew not to expect a military response from the rest of Europe when he invaded Poland. And with the Phony War of 1939 - 1940, he was probably very encouraged to continue invading. Putin created instant, worldwide condemnation for his actions, which quickly led to economic sanctions (which generally mean more in the globalized economy of 2022 than in 1939) and support for Ukraine's military. And after struggling initially, Ukraine turned things around and kicked the Russians halfway back to Russia. The German army of 1940 was not as corrupt and inept as Russia's armed forces are in 2022. Putin, like Hitler, encourages his troops to treat enemy combatants and civilians like sub-humans, bombing hospitals and schools, etc.
That's a good question because if the reporting from The Gray Zone is true WW III is around the corner. Given the G7 meeting today it was agreed by all that we will continue to support Ukraine no matter how long it takes. G7 Statement on Ukraine, 11 October 2022 9. We reassured President Zelenskyy that we are undeterred and steadfast in our commitment to providing the support Ukraine needs to uphold its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic and legal support and will stand firmly with Ukraine for as long as it takes. We are committed to supporting Ukraine in meeting its winter preparedness needs. Ukraine hints that it sabotaged a crucial bridge linking Russia and Crimea to spite Putin on his 70th birthday Ukrainian officials have hinted that Ukraine may have sabotaged a crucial bridge linking Russia and the annexed territory of Crimea to spite Russian President Vladimir Putin on his 70th birthday. EXPOSED: Before Ukraine blew up Kerch Bridge, British spies plotted it The Grayzone has obtained an April 2022 presentation drawn up for senior British intelligence officers hashing out an elaborate scheme to blow up Crimea’s Kerch Bridge with the involvement of specially trained Ukrainian soldiers. Almost six months after the plan was circulated, Kerch Bridge was attacked in an October 8th suicide bombing apparently overseen by Ukraine’s SBU intelligence services. The slides in this PDF certainly look legit and given how soon this has come out I have to serious doubts that this was accomplished overnight burning the midnight oil. While there is no date on the document itself there are two surveillance slides that are images dated 16 Apr 2022. Link to supporting PDF. Support for Ukraine Maritime Raiding Operations
I think the wild card to a certain extent may be his health (mental and physical) and his advancing age.....have any of these factors altered the landscape significantly in his methodology and how we should deal with him.
why do you keep posting these ridiculous sources as if they had some credibility? You can certainly complain about questionable sources my biggest complaint about the article is an anonymous source. I don't trust our own press/government when it comes anonymous sources. That aside we will see where this goes.
if gray zone is where you’ve been getting your info, I now understand your posting history much better.
I think you know better than that if you have bothered to read my posts and the links I provide. I get information from a multitude of places US and foreign sources. Reducing one's self to sites that simply align with personal views is not conducive to one's growth in critical thinking. Given our own government we all know how lies and half truths permeate the whole of society.
Russia's missile attacks show Putin's powerlessness. Ukraine shot down half of the missiles, and there was no military value in firing the missiles. It was a terror attack designed to distract Ukraine and Russian citizens from the successful attack on the Crimean bridge. Worse, Russia does not have an excess of these missiles to waste 75 of them on random terror attacks (that do not terrorize Ukrainian citizens anyway). And all Ukraine has to do to flip the script on Putin is to attack the bridge again. You know this would humiliate Putin and drive him insane. Wasting missiles on random terror attacks instead of supporting an under-performing army to help it achieve its objectives is the height of foolishness. It is an admission that defeat is not far away. Russia's use of scarce missiles to slam Ukrainian civilians baffles Western analysts, thrills hardliners Nope. Hit a park, a children's playground, a German consulate, and a business center, as well as non-military energy systems.
France, normally an exporter of electricity to its European neighbors, has half of its 56 nuclear reactors shut down going into this winter. The shutdowns are due to corrosion and overdue maintenance. France is now looking at likely brownouts or rolling blackouts. Not very good timing. France is also suffering from gasoline shortages, with oil workers on strike. With winter fast approaching, Europe scrambles to prepare for energy shortages
It is likelier that Ukraine shot down no incoming missiles than shot down half of Ukrainian missiles. Never mind Ukraine’s destroyed and/or outmoded anti-missile systems, there is nothing in the US inventory that can shoot down missiles with any great effect. It just hasn’t been a priority for the US until recently.
Still waiting ... waiting ... waiting for an explanation as to how the US could defeat Russia in theatre. Reminder: ‘technology’ and ‘Murica’ disqualified.
