I think that identifying the best interests of a group is a perilous and perhaps an impossible task. However, I think it’s easier to identify some things that are not in their best interest, and I certainly agree that total fealty to a political party has to be near the top of this list.
Let's be honest. She got pissed when she didn't do well when she ran for POTUS. This is a slow play to run for office as a GOP member. She will run as a California resident or whichever state she moves her residency to since she would have no chance in Hawaii. C'mon you guys can't tell me you don't see this coming.
Aren’t they representing their constituents since those are the ones who elected them? That often involves their party policies. Generalization Biden constituents = liberals and democrats. Trump constituents = conservatives and republicans.
Presidents have to get elected nation-wide (although not by popular vote). Senators have to win state-wide. With the House, though, many districts aren't competitive so it's a primary battle with a perfunctory general. I do think moderates and independents probably have less political power in House races than their numbers would suggest.
So when she represented a district that was solidly blue she was a dem. Now that she doesn’t t need to pander she sounds like Tucker Carlson’s long lost sister. shocker.
Why would I care about someone who isn’t even in Congress anymore? And I was never a fan of hers anyway, in no small part because she was seemingly a Russia shill even years ago when she did serve. I’m just saying her massive change of rhetoric points to a larger issue. And the meaningless bumper sticker garbage in that speech was just dumb. It would be akin to a Republican calling his party a bunch of racists, homophobes and Qanon freaks on his way out. It serves no purpose other than to further divide.
Both sides do this (whether the description be "Russian Asset" or "RINO"). It's actually somewhat amusing. I'd argue that in general telling one party or the other to go piss up a rope is a good thing. Now given the video, I think that realigning with the other team isn't the way to go either. Someone mentioned it earlier on, but "fealty" is actually a good description of the current system. It's chilling on both sides and will likely mean the end of our system of government sooner than later.
My characterization of her as a Russian asset, which I stand by, has nothing to do with the content of the video, which I did not view. I called her Russian asset because she is. It doesn't escalate it with any of the reasons for leaving the party, certainly not the domestic reasons. But she is a Russian asset
I did, but it was seized by the Deep State. I was hiding it in a Chinese bowling alley but I made the mistake of thinking the location out loud without my hat on
It's more like she received an offer early on but then Coach starting recruiting more capable players at her same position. She then decides to commit to SOW and act like it's the best decision she's ever made when we had already moved on
