I always felt like once we hit the red zone, particularly inside the ten, Dameon Pierce should be the back, but for some reason Mullen would stick with the rotation and invariably it was Malik Davis. Not a knock on Davis, but it was obvious to almost everyone that Pearce could move the pile like few others. That’s not Malik’ strong point. I’m really glad for Pearce. Great person and heck of a football player.
My only concern is that he is getting all of his energies out so much, he may begin to wear and tear his body too much. I realize that RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL (actually, they are "The Expendables"). I don't recall which ex-Gator it was, but he was drafted by Washington and was great his rookie season and then couldn't stay out of the injury tent afterwards. Gotta try to get to the second - and usually most important - contract. I know this is a "atta-boy Dameon" thread, but damn, Harris for the Steelers is going DOWN. That is telling.
Darth Gator definitely took us to the dark side. Alligator Named 'Darth Gator' Escapes From Zoo Enclosure at Feeding Time (newsweek.com)
if he had carried the ball 20 times/game in college, he probably would have been picked up by a different team and may have less yardage.
