    There is one definite difference.

We would likely lose the REALLY close games we have won. Mental toughness is a quality last year's team did not have. They checked out with their HC.

I will post what I posted on another thread or a reply here. Keep it simple. Missouri = Kentucky. If Napier had played it this way, and AR STILL hadn't turned the corner mentally, and we LOST the game (yes that WAS a possibility, for whatever reasons), would you still have the same temperature? Would you like to peruse your posts, post-Kentucky game, and say you indeed "shrugged" at the lack of snaps by AR in his career and that we need to "give him time"? My guess is that you were quite less-than-pleased at the loss.

Napier should have let him sit after he did nothing in his first series in the second half. He needs to get his head straight, not that he is sort of missing his reads of the defense. And since this isn't baseball, he could have come back in to win the game if Kitna was nothing in his two series. The plain and simple reason is because what AR was doing was NOT winning football. And it is Napier's job to win THAT game as much as it is to think long-term. And he should have tried Plan B.

But as we all know, he did not and we won the game. And now, we have fair weather. Are you REALLY sure we would all feel "great" about Napier if the Football Gods did not quite smile-down on the Gators on Saturday?

AR ran fast and made great cuts as usual after his time in the tent.

Recognize that He's a phenomenal specimen but he needs maturity and experience and time.

When he does finally become the QB he can be, idiots here will criticize him for not playing that way from day one. If he's in the NFL when it happens idiots will blame our coaches.

If you have no patience and not enjoying the Journey, shut it.

We only threw the ball 14 times and only had 46 total offensive plays!! Compared to Mizzu’s 72 offensive plays! Mizzu had some long drives and we had the long return and pick six which limits your amount of plays.

He is still highly rated and a projected first round pick. NFL evaluators look at measurables, talent and fit. AR in this scheme is like Chris Leak in the spread option. If CBN doesn’t want to adjust his O to his talents then AR will transfer or go be a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Reflecting back on the game...one of the things that I found so refreshing is to see a DB break on a ball and get the interception. Hill was really on fuego yesterday. Two picks. One he muscled his was through and the other he just became a receiver and took it to the house.

When you watch games you see opportunities all the time for D backs to steal a pass. So often they watch the pass come into the receivers hands- and they're in close proximity. I suppose they don't want to risk missing it and then having no one in back of the receiver. Additionally, watching it from my 'critical couch observatory', I'm probably oversimplifying the ease of what I'd like to see. I'm like: "Bro, you coulda picked that off!..."

Welcome back Mr. Hill. And then there's Miller. Different beast. He's like the Quantum Entanglement version of a Linebacker. Not many humans can be in two places at the same time.

    Go Gators. :)

AR needs to make quicker decisions. You always hear QBs talking about you get to a point where the game slows down, which leads to quicker decisions. The game has not slowed down for AR yet.

We always seem to have multiple receivers in the same area, which has to be a busted route or poor route recognition. It cost us the 2 point conversion against UT and almost cost us the TD to Pearsall. You see it on almost every pass play.

DBs are the weakest unit on the team, good to have Hill back!

I like how BN has called the games for the most part but there’s times where you should go for the jugular when we run draws, like after the big return.

I don’t understand the timeout right before the FG when they were out of timeouts.

All I know about predicting the future for QBs, at any level, is how they are performing in real time, where they are.

Not some imaginary fiction of the future, based on measurable's or a few nice plays.

So far, AR's play has been inconsistent and leaning to poor. That's all I know. Nor do I care about the NFL at all, my Fandom is college and UF in particular.

I'm a UF fan and by implication an AR fan,
I want him to succeed. My own opinion and hope is he uses this year to learn the Napier system so as to help UF improve and challenge for a title next year.

I don't care about his NFL potential, his agents commission checks or any of that.
If he thinks he can improve his station elsewhere, he needs to hit the transfer portal ASAP so UF is not wasting its resources.

The games are available on demand, for free, shortly after the game is over every week on the espn app. You don’t need an espn+ subscription unless the game was ONLY broadcast on espn+.

As discussed in other threads and according to Shane Mathew’s, Gators had defensive personnel still coming off the field when Mizzou was ready to snap the ball. If the time out was not called the Gators would have been flagged for too many men on the field and a Mizzou first down.

You don’t believe the offensive system CBN is currently running fits AR’s skill set? I’m not doubting that, just trying to understand why CBN would do that. Do you think CBN believes AR is a one year or two year QB at UF? He’s no way in you know what a league QB now, not even close, he’s not even a quality SEC QB much of the time. He will bolt for the league in a flash though if he’s projected to be a 1st round pick.

You can assume what I thought or how I felt about AR after Kentucky all you want. But that’s your assumptions and nothing more. For openers, I was at that game. Were you?

I remember after the first or second series turning to my friend next to me and saying “AR is really off today”. It was obvious right from the outset. We kept hoping he’d find his groove and it never happened. Did I ever think he should be benched and replaced? No

I remember a game in the 70s when Dick Anderson was Terry Bradshaw’s leading receiver. I trust you’ll draw the connection - even good quarterbacks have bad days.

In our situation today - and especially 3 weeks ago, Anthony Richardson needs as much playing time as possible. He needs reps. He needs to be able to fail and recover and grow in the job. This isn’t about one game at this point. We aren’t competing for any championships this season. Only reason AR should be benched this season is if he’s hurt. He will get better but it won’t happen by playing Kitna.

    Go Gators
