Game Analysis Good win against a tough team!! ** Defense, except for a few breakdowns, was really good. ** Gotta run the ball with AR involved as our o line dominated in second half. ** gotta continue to feed Johnson and Etienne more. 19-184 today. Figure up that APC and imagine if they had 30 Carries. ** Pearsall- has to be more involved. Not enough involvement today. ** AR part 2- using his feet/athletic ability keeps him in flow of game and I’d say will lead to a good solid psssing game. Not just because it makes linebackers and safeties to play more flatfooted, as I’d argue it keeps him ultra focused and positive with some big runs. ** Special Teams- Henderson was very very good. Field goals not so much but Mihakek will be fine. Henderson was a major surprise and if Mihalek misses next FG then maybe we go to Smack.
Mizzu is not a good team. Their coach will be fired at the end of this season or a few games into next. Florida is a work in progress.
He will get next year and they are better than you think. Feed your top 2 running backs more. No defensive busts Make Pearsall a priority all 3 equal an 8/9 win year counting bowl game.
I appreciate the optimism, but Mizz is not a good team. - How do you suggest using Ricky more, when we had 8 completions this game on 14 attempts? - We only ran 46 plays, so the two main RB's getting 19 carries is solid, and shows a commitment to them/that part of the game. It'll be tough to run them a ton, because teams will stack the box. Either way, they are clearly the best part of our O. Random good news: - Our top 5 rated true freshmen are all playing a lot and playing well. Go back to our previous classes top 5, and we've missed tremendously. That is an early sign that BN can identify talent, and of course shows that our roster is just not very good on top end talent.
Our run D is improving until its not. Our DBs still don't know the scheme and/or the scheme is terrible AR is too banged up to be what we want him to be. He needs the open week. Jayden Hill, Etienne and Johnson saved the day.....
Mizzou is better than their record. But we are very inconsistent on both sides of the ball and have no depth on D. as others said - a work in progress. But we did enough to win the game. I’ll take it.
One point of fact that I have to mention is about our defensive calls/schemes. One thing that has proven to NEVER EVER WORK in the SEC is putting a 3 man D-line and staying in a zone defense on 3rd and long.... THAT NEVER FREAKING WORKS... yet time and time again a DC will pull that crap out of his hind end and act like it might work.... 3rd and 18 should never be allowed to work, unless our DC calls that 3 man rush zone crap on it.
I think they gave a pretty good defense. Also, they have some good receivers but a suspect quarterback.
Missouri has a good defense and a mediocre offense statistically. We didn't match up well with them and I'm happy with the win. Totally agree that gators are work in progress and are making progress.
Seemed like our plan on D was to not let them ever get a chunk play. I think it worked - barely but it worked. When they tried to push it, we ended up getting a turnover. Yes the 3rd and long conversions were horrible but we were in position. On that 3rd and 27, we had runner dead to rights and the defender missed but slowed the guy down. I expected to see defenders swarming towards the ball but they didn't. Correctible I think/hope.
Grantham made us a 3-4 base... before that guy we always had one of the best pressure defenses in the entire country. We need to go back to that 4-3 base and work off of that scheme again.
I'm an optimistic guy but this is where your post lost credibility. UF is improving and I'm definitely happy with what I've seen this year but neither team out there today is what I'd call good or tough, at least for the SEC. This isn't the big 10. Both very, very average. Anyways good win, lots to improve on and quite a few games left. Interesting take but I'd argue every team is exactly as good as their record. If they were better they'd have a better record rather than a 20 plus point loss to Kansas State and a loss to Auburn.
good enough, take back 2 plays and they win, take back 1 play and they probably win. 2 INTs killed them. Other than those 2 plays, QB Cook played well.
Sure. You’re omitting that last week Mizzou played UGA tougher than anyone else will all year - including UF. UGA fortunate to win it late. I’m not saying they’re a great team. But they aren’t E Washington either. It was a game we should win and did win. But we had to play pretty well to win it.
