Acid is chemical, shrooms are chemical. One is grown in cow shit; the other in a lab. Which explains why I preferred acid.

I think he was talking about the effect; that's how I interpreted it. lsd makes me feel far more jittery, hence chemicalish, than shrooms, which are warmer & mellower. Knowing the guy, I think his analogy was to guitar effects (analogue v. digital), fwiw.
