i bet the cost to transport them down will be a lot less than the $$ spent to fly them north. I wonder how many bus trips $600k will pay for and if DeSantis is requiring contractors to confirm return tickets or of all of them will just be left in Florida when the work is done

Seems like Florida is becoming a haven for the MAGA crowd.

I would really like to read the piece to evaluate it but I don't have a subscription. But it's from a reputable source

Thanks - has it been stored with a third party all along? Feels like more capacity for abuse now

My understanding as well - but the legal backdrop has changed significantly to open up a new set of implications

Obviously you have never worked for a living. Rubber boots come in 2 colors, white and black.

White or black only? You obviously didn’t see the pair of “work boots” Desantis’ wife originally picked out for him.

It don't really matter, cement finishers I have worked around generally wear black. I've worked around a lot of commercial fishermen who for some reason wear white.....Never seen another color on a job site. The point is to make a big deal out of the color of someones rubber boots is just plain silly and shows the extremes liberals will go to to make something out of nothing.

Shrimp boots. Why the need to display ignorance in an attempt to bash someone on their appearance?

Does anyone actually care? I’ve seen a few making fun of the squeaky clean white boots. Don’t think left wing media even made as much deal over those boots as say… the right wing freakout over a tan suit. I too thought it was odd when it was shown (before anyone started commenting on it). It’s obviously not a big deal. But as these things are generally photo ops for the pols to show they are “in charge” it’s best not to have wardrobe malfunctions or have things drawing attention to the wardrobe. It’s obviously not as absurd as Melania’s “I don’t even care, do u”.

When they met the Biden’s (shown extensively on our local news) I also thought it was weird that both the Biden’s and Desantis’s looked dressed for a cocktail party rather than disaster response, but then it’s not like anyone expects them to do real work on such visits, it’s just the image for the photo op.

there were no engineering challenges. challenges were getting to isolation valves and the broken pipes and repairing them. nobody from mit or outside firms had anything to do with any of that. surveyors, trackhoes, utility personnel familiar with the system, and lots of illegal immigrant labor moving debris, digging holes, working in the ditch cutting and fixing pipes made that happen. of course that doesn't sound as good on twitter

Like Obama's tan suit and how the right wingers we're so offended by it?
