For an initial audition, I thought he did quite well. I thought he may do even better but he wasn't quite "Trask-esque" but I think Napier can feel better about letting AR do more amazing things if that is what a game requires. And if he is having "one of those episodes" Napier can certainly sit him down and let him get settled.
I am not saying Kitna is better than AR or that he should have been a starter, but his timing looked impeccable. He seems to like the pistol formation play action more than AR, and he throws with great anticipation. I wonder what that would look like against serious competition.
Kitna has surprisingly good mobility. His 2nd deep ball to Douglas was right to where I was sitting and Douglas slowed down in his route then when he saw it coming his way he tried to turn it on. If he went full speed from the get go, that might have been 6. It was nice to see Kitna move as well as he did. FYI, EWU was very small and over matched. UF did what they needed to do.
First, BN said Kitna did not have one incompletion at practice recently, which he had never seen before. Kitna must have been practicing against our first D. I kid I kid, sorta. We can all breath a lot easier because Kitna looked ten times better than the O and B game. Will be interesting to see who becomes second string. I do think AR no longer has to play it safe. I feel a whole lot better about our QB situation for next year.
