First game this year I’ve had to listen to the radio broadcast, thought he did a good job.

May be just me, but even sounds a bit like Mick. Bringing in Shane Matthews for McGriff was a good move as well. Nothing against Lee, just think it was a good idea to bring in a new team and let them find their way.

Given the ubiquity of televised games, radio has become less prominent, but I still enjoy the broadcast. I think we are in good shape with Sean and Shane.

Kelly has been a pro from Day 1.

I think it was Lee McGriff's decision to retire. He only did home games last year.

Sean is very descriptive. My only complaint is that sometimes he doesn’t “set the table “ as often as he needs to. Down and distance, yard line, time in the game and the score. Other than that great job. He also is good at drawing Shane out with direct questions and Tate too.
Of course I’m comparing him to Mick who had many years of radio experience.

I like Sean Kelley and Shane but I was so used to Mick and Lee, but the new guys didn't miss a beat.

  7. I am guilty of comparing Sean Kelly to Mick Hubert, but I cannot remember the last transition from David Steele and I am too young to remember Otis Boggs. Honestly I like hearing Shane Matthews. Sean will grow into the role as he makes it his own.

You know you are OLD when you remember Shane Matthews as a player.

I don’t mind him. Taking me a bit to get used to his “touchdown gators” vs micks “touchdown Florida”

I found him lacking- but probably has more to do with the fact that he is NOT Mick

I liked Steele. Then came Hubert and I have been "meh" about his shtick. But he has been a given for all these years. We get used to our routines. I am sure Sean is getting the "you aren't what we are used to" treatment.

I’m old enough to remember the Otis Boggs days and in those times radio was almost always the ONLY way you could follow Gator football. Well, almost the only way: In Inverness we did have Tom McEwen and the Tampa Tribune.
Think I stated this somewhere else but I’m appreciative of Mick’s dedication to the UF and thought he was very good. But I also thought he was a bit over the top with the “drama”.
I like Sean and Shane. I think they too are very good.

Shane needs to watch his negativity, this ain't the old days, teams want cheerleaders on the radio.

When I was a kid Florida football was almost never on TV. So Otis Boggs was the way you heard the games. I had nobody to compare him to, but I thought he was great. Helped me become a Gator fan. I, too, listened to Kelley and Matthews for the first time this Sunday because we have DISH. I was impressed.

Otis Boggs " A high lazy spiral". Grew up listening to his calls of Gator games.
