That's my Costco. If you guys need anything, let me know. Nearby good food: Tap42 for beer/whisky/burgers, Vignettos has great Italian food, LaSpadas for subs, all right by you.

Stay safe out there! Especially those in SW Florida.

Really wanted to send @G8trGr8t a message that I was thinking about him as I am pretty sure he is down in the Naples area. If someone can pass that along I would appreciate it. He has been frustrated with our recent discussions and I was not able to send him a private message a second ago…

    Thanks!

Latest update looks like it's dipping further south. Looks like Ft. Myers is going to get blasted. My sister is in Naples riding it out, thankfully not on the coast. BTW QGator wrote a message wishing you well and asking that we pass the message along to you. Did you evac?

Stinkin hurricane seems to want to head directly for me.

EDIT: Model just shifted to the south of me! It no longer has the projected path to be literally going through my house lol.

I'm focusing on Jax and it appears to move a few miles farther offshore with each update.

Hopefully her building has generator for elevator and potable booster pumps. That becomes biggest problem for those sheltering in towers when power goes out. Mobility limited aren't doing 18 floors of stairs to take the dog out.

Thanks for the thoughts, we decided to ride this one out. House did fine with Irma other than two trees which are gone now. Structure is safe, generator and gas are in place, another 50 gallons of gas in boat that is tied down, 4 tanks of propane for grill, just need surge to stay under 8' and should be okay. other than that worst should be minor flooding in house. It will all depend on where it comes onshore and how fast it gets there. Rain bands are mostly avoiding us right now and seem more to north, northwest of center with east side being relatively dry. ground is saturated. Oddly enough, I heard 4 or 5 transformers blow on road maybe a mile away and generator kick on at retirement home on that road. Winds haven't been over 30 and rain not bad so don't understand why those transformers blew.

Working on editing some pictures. Took too many on vacation and trying to trim down to an album to make memory book for family. Italy /Switzerland flickr album to date is at link below. Still have a day in Florence, 2 days in Rome, and a day trip to the island of Ponza to sort through and add.

Hopefully power and cable hold on and I can finish editing pics and finish trip report from Europe. Then I can start working on the flickr Alaska album from June. to get motivated to book next summer

Both stronger now and projected to weaken much stronger after landfall. Odd

Haven't plotted it but radar loop looks like it's moving almost due north.
