Athletic Director Scott Stricklin provided fans with weather update for EWU [Game On Sunday]

The Florida-Eastern Washington football game, scheduled for this Saturday, has been re-scheduled for Sunday, October 2nd at Noon in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Steve Spurrier Florida Field the University Athletic Association announced today. The UAA continues to work with UF, local and state officials to monitor Hurricane Ian and any potential impacts on the newly scheduled date.

Additionally, the university announced Monday that classes and all academic and student-related activities, including online classes, are canceled Wednesday through Friday. Severe Weather Updates for campus are posted to their website.

All tickets issued for Saturday will be honored on Sunday. Fans with an account with the Gators Ticket Office are encourage to use their account manager at FloridaGators.com/tickets to resell any unused tickets.

The game will still be available digitally on ESPN+/SEC Network+ and carried on the Gators Radio Network from LEARFIELD. A complete list of radio affiliates will be released on Saturday.

Most game day activities, including tailgating, will remain the same for Sunday with the exception that there will be no road closure of University Avenue, resulting in a modified Gator Walk. Complete details for Gator Walk will be available later in the week.

 

Florida Gators move football game vs. Eastern Washington Eagles to Sunday due to Hurricane Ian

The University of Florida announced the change Tuesday, saying it will continue to work with local and state officials to monitor the impact of the storm.

Florida (2-2) is coming off a loss to No. 11 Tennessee, while Eastern Washington (1-2) has lost two straight games.

The game, which will be held in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, will be a noon ET kickoff (ESPN+/SEC Network+).

Hurricane Ian forcing EWU-Florida to Sunday

The University of Florida has canceled classes from Wednesday through Friday.

Other games being impacted in Florida by the potential effects of Hurricane Ian:

• South Florida's football game with East Carolina has been moved from Tampa to Boca Raton and will be played at 2:30 p.m. Saturday (ESPN+). That game will be played at Florida Atlantic's stadium. It had originally been scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
  
  
• The NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers were relocating their football operations to the Miami Dolphins' training complex in Miami Gardens starting Wednesday in preparation for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs.
  
  
• The NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning have postponed preseason games against Carolina on Wednesday and Nashville on Thursday. Those games had been scheduled to be played at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
