They Actually Have A List of Demands for WHITE People Apparently not all black people agree with the blm propaganda ----
BLM is passé. We’re here ... Stay Home, Save Lives —> BLM —> I Got My Covid-19 Vaccination —> I Stand With Ukraine —> Stock Up On Non-Perishables
Stretch to say that “BLM is demanding these things”. A person who started a local chapter of BLM demanded some crazy things back in 2017, but those demands are not affiliated with the real BLM. The problem with these kinds of narratives is that many do not take the time to fact check or put things in context, and therefore people like OP are counting on others to digest the propaganda without sue diligence. And… it is an effective strategy.
Man the Bureau of Land Management is going rogue as an agency. They must think they’re the Border Patrol
I haven't watched this video, but I think BLM - the organization - is often conflated with Black Lives Matter - the movement. I can't even name the people involved in the organization, but if someone were to ask me about the movement or phrase generally, I'm in support of it.
I believe Chanelle Helm (Chanelle Helm is cofounder and core organizer of Black Lives Matter Louisville) is the person being refered to. She wrote this article for Leo Weekly 8/16/2017. The video is current 9/8/2022 playing off of 5 year old article that was published. I assume Chanelle Helm is still with the Southern University Law Center but hasn't been in the news lately. The latest article I could find dates back to 2/17/2022 where the chapter she cofounded posted 100K bond to bail out a Kentucky activist Qunitez Brown for attempted murder. Needless to say this woman has led an activist life for some time and is involved in more than just BLM. White people, here are 10 requests from a Black Lives Matter leader
Thanks! But that's the trouble with just posting a video without explaining what's really going on. So instead of "BLM makes demands!" ... we've got"someone made these requests five years ago ..." That's said. It's a pretty ridiculous list.
Did a Black Lives Matter Activist 'Demand' That White People Give Up Their Homes? To make matters worse, state-funded Russian propaganda outlet RT (formerly Russia Today) labeled Helm’s list a “manifesto” (Helm said on air that it was no such thing) and brought her on to debate structural racism with (inexplicably) a little-known comedian from Los Angeles who had previously appeared on RT to criticize animal rights protesters. Conservative web sites picked out a partial quote from her list, (“Give up the home you own”) and put it in headlines mischaracterizing it as a set of demands, like this one from Breitbart: “Black Lives Matter Activist Unveils List of Demands to White People: ‘Give Up the Home You Own.’” Helm told us she has since been inundated with death threats calling her racial epithets and that the whole thing has been “blown out of proportion.” When Helm wrote the list, she had in mind the articulation between the racial hate being expressed in Charlottesville and how it relates to institutional racism, and how that system has influenced wealth and life prospects for African-American communities in the United States. She says she was thinking about an ongoing housing crisis among Louisville residents of color, but also about how the 2008 housing crisis and displacement caused by gentrification have limited access to housing and property ownership. In a phone interview, Helm gave the example of a quote by Nelson Mandela that says:
One reason this happens is they look for every opportunity to criticize the movement. “They” means racially insensitive white folks. If they’d just follow the golden rule, they wouldn’t post such things.
I agree to some extent that the video needs more context. However, I don’t think it’s out of bounds to assume or think that BLM is BLM. It may be that BLM the organization need a to do a better job distancing itself and marketing itself. Was it the national organization that came under fire last year for misappropriation of funds/ donations? Or was that a local chapter. At any rate.. I do think the BLM movement has died. Certain people used it to get rich, promote themselves and their families and the overall movement has sputtered. BLM got replaced by the transgender movement. And in a year or right after the election.. one or the other… transgender movement will be forgotten and replaced with whatever is in vogue at the time. Anything that can rule the bases of both sides up is what our elitist rulers will use.
I agree seems to me the issue with BLM is it started out as a movement that had good intentions. The BLM movement may well have local activists with good intentions. The problem is the rot at the top as well as activist chapters that act on their own versus working as a cohesive unit. I think this news article sums up the state of BLM. BLM Chapters Sue Organization Head over Alleged $10 Million Theft A lawsuit filed by a coalition of 26 Black Lives Matter (BLM) chapters has accused the organization’s foundation head of “unjust enrichment,” specifically the theft of $10 million in charitable contributions for personal expenditures. Black Lives Matter Grassroots claims that Shalomyah Bowers, the leader of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, defrauded the local activist groups by siphoning funds away from them. “The assets that we built, the financial resources, the social media platforms and the name ‘Black Lives Matter’ have been taken from us and are under the control of consultants,” Dr Melina Abdullah, the director of BLM Grassroots and a co-founder of the BLM Los Angeles chapter, said at a recent press conference.
Or is it just the premise itself that is the outrage. But I agree, I too would like to see that list.
