How do you suppose your demented, hair-transplanted President would fare vs. Putin on the mat ?

Not well. Good thing Biden doesn’t go around playing tough guy despite being someone who avoided combat in Afghanistan (and everywhere else) and lived a soft, privileged life, having others do the actual violence for him. But Putin’s read a lot of books about wars that other people fought in and rides a horse, shirtless with a gun, so I guess I should show more respect.

DD is a fine example of a traditional post WW2 propagandist and disinformation specialist.

Much like the scumbags that infiltrated American social media sites prior to 2016 to confuse the American electorate, which of course was a Putin strategy to destabilize American and NATO resolve to put the brakes on his expansionist policies.

Kim Basinger’s role was supposed to be Sean Young. Crazy but memorable in No Way Out

Said a it a couple of times before, I guess the Russian victory in Ukraine is so overwhelming that when the Russian troops were conducting their strategic retreat, as a gesture of good will Putin decided to leave behind a huge quantity of serviceable or easily reparable military equipment for the defeated Ukrainian Army.

Opinions vary, but I’d still take Kim Basinger in a New York minute over Sean Young. It might be the only thing Alec Baldwin and I have in common.

Understood. No Way Out made an impression. It and The Americans with the Jennings were fun fiction until it became real in 2016

I assume you’re speaking of the reality of illegals (Russians posing as Americans for generations). It didn’t become real in 2016. It became real in about 1947. Little Nikita is another forgotten movie on the same subject. That was late 1980s as the whole Soviet enterprise was caving in, but even then had a good idea about what the Russians were doing to infiltrate our society and work against us even then. I get mildly amused when the Russians doing today what they have been doing almost without interruption since the late 1940s is suddenly something we should pay attention to.

Anyway, back on topic, I would be interested to know what the boards opinion is of Russian Confederation nuclear capabilities?

First, I understand that even if every Russian nuke exploded in its own silo or Submarine it would still be a mega disaster
In every respect,...... but given the complete incompetence of their military, command and control and logistics systems so comprehensively demonstrated in their bumbling attempt to over-run a few Eastern Ukranian provinces, one can't help but wonder what the actual condition of their nuclear arsenal is, especially their targeting systems.

    Thoughts?

No need to neck it down. She was awesome in everything. My favorite is still the remake of The Getaway. ;)

Up front. This is not going to be particularly helpful information, but it will be true. Assuming a full exchange, even if say, two-thirds of their weapons fail to arrive at the right place for whatever reason, the world as we know it is over. Elements of the U.S. would survive, but life would be very hard for those left behind. And that includes, presumably, Europe and Japan. That’s the bad news and why none of us want that. The good news, if you can call it that, is that our full retaliatory response would completely, not partially, destroy both China and Russia (in the event of nuclear war, there is no way to realistically decouple them). Every weapon of ours will launch, hit its exact target, detonate, and not get intercepted. What makes that good news is the Russians (and more importantly the Chinese) know that is true even if they don’t say it out loud. That makes using their weapons as a first-strike a serious business decision: am I willing to inflict partial damage on them in exchange for complete destruction on me? But absent some sort of method to disable our retaliatory and intercept abilities, that’s the deal. Let’s not find out.

Supermajority of Americans want to support Ukraine in reclaiming lost territories. Presumably, a like percentage of Americans do not understand what this would entail ...

I don't know about that, but Pope Gregory IX may have actually made the Black Plague far worse than it was. He decided that black cats were in cahoots with the devil (leading to the modern day superstitions about black cats), so they should all be killed (this was nearly a century before the arrival of the plague). After a while, all cats were considered dangerous to God-fearing people and needed to be killed. Religious people started witch-hunting shortly thereafter, and considered the cats to be familiars for the witches, which caused more killing of cats. Once large numbers of cats were killed off in the cities, the rats took over and (fleas on the rats) spread the plague like wildfire.
