Trump is breaking down mentally. He told Hannity last night that the FBI was probably looking for Hillary's emails at MAL.
If there ever is an indictment, it is going to be awfully difficult to try the case. Because it involves putting classified information into a public forum. In last cases, the defendants have worked out deals. That isn’t in Trump’s purview and he has a wide base that turns in everyone— no matter the person or party— who challenges his miscreant behavior. Now that Berman has explained how Barr shut down his SDNY investigations and we have seen the non-prosecution memo from the Russia investigation, we know that Barr acted as Trump’s protector. It certainly explains why the 3 obstruction charges weee never filed in that matter. Perks for the powerful. Based on Trump’s statements and the court ruling, Trump knowingly possessed highly classified documents he had no right to possess and intentionally refuses to give them back. And that doesn’t even get into the public source reporting. And his defense is that he declassified them without following the process for declassification— including documenting it. Anyone else would be indicted and soon.
How long until Trump claims he gave himself a secret mental pardon for all this before he left office?
Read these boards. People believe it because they want to believe it. No words can describe how, or more significant, why, his cultist followers cling to his every word, even when every ounce of common sense and logic screams he is lying.
Agree. There are even some posters to this board who believe that the FBI planted the evidence (documents) at Mar-a-Lago.
Which, in and of itself is a paradox they refuse to acknowledge. The FBI planted them, but Trump also declassified them. And Trump has said both things are true....
Personally I think it is more calculated rather than a breakdown. He knows how damn ignorant and gullible MAGA nation is.
I think this gives the guy too much credit. Remember, this is the same guy that as President, would spent all night suffering from Tweeting-Turrets Syndrome. He acts without forethought.
While I agree that there needs to be a process so his I just thought about it defense is total BS, I keep going back to IF he did declassify this material, apparently some of the our most valued top secrets, that should be all someone need to know to understand that this guy is a real threat to our country. If he declassified this information, you or I have the right to request it via FOIA. Does anyone think that out most classified secrets should be made public information?
Trump declassified them before they were planted because he knew the FBI was going to plant them and then conduct the raid.
More precisely, Trump drew a great draw on Judge Cannon. She may be one of the very few judges in the country who would have not sent the case to the court that first asserted jurisdiction over the search and would have ruled the way she did. Trump is still farther along than anyone else would be because the DOJ only challenged a limited part of the order. That was smart, because Trump can contest that his personal documents are not subject to being sent to the National Archives and he has an interest in those.
Agree 100%. I was being cheeky. I view "Deep State" as the term is used by MAGA types as meaning "loyal to the United States and the rule of law.". Cannon's order was indefensible.
