Just want to mention that it wasn't Joe Biden who agreed to force the then government of Afghanistan to release over 5,000 Taliban prisoners including some designated as terrorists; it wasn't Joe Biden who agreed to a May 1, 2022 date for the withdrawal of all US troops from Afghanistan (Biden moved the date back to August), and it wasn't Joe Biden who, against the advice of his own generals in 2020, decided to reduce the number of US troops in Afghanistan below a number necessary for an orderly withdrawal. Also, seems somewhat incongruous to describe Maduro as a dictator (an accurate description by the way) while implicitly supporting the denial of asylum to Venezuelans fleeing the authoritarian government of said dictator. Also let's not forget that US oil production experienced it's largest drop in the last decade in 2020 and that the trend has been increasing since Biden took office.

I'm still waiting for one of you border hawks to tell me why you only care about the southern border. Most people here that are undocumented did not cross the southern border

Absolutely. The majority of undocumented immigrants in this country entered legally as tourists or on visas as temporary workers or students and decided to remain in the country. While some of the linked articles are a couple of years old the situation is little changed given that the majority of undocumented immigrants have been overstays going back decades.

. One problem with hate filled and angry rants is that that you end up spewing inaccurate information. For example, Afghanistan. The date Biden left was set in the surrender document negotiated by Trump. Trump drew troop strength down to 2,500, which was not enough to ensure an orderly exit without support from the Afghan army that this country spent twenty or so years training across 4 presidents. Those few troops were limited to Kabul and, in the face of Taliban advances when the Afghan army quit, were minted further to guarding the airport. And, the troop strength had to be increased temporarily. After he negotiated the surrender papers and left office, Trump then went around the country giving speeches in which he emphasized that he had made it impossible for Biden to reverse course and leave, which in any event, Biden decided to do. But, then, this is off the topic.

A fact filed response. You now what else Biden did? He got 80 million votes— most ever by any candidate. And beat Trump. Reduced Trump to lying about the election being stolen. Not bad for a “dolt!”

If you think the southern border is a massive issue then I would think the GOP would be screaming from the rooftops about other. Orders yet they are dead silent. There is a greater number that is not being encountered who are crossing other borders. Why is that not an issue to you?

Immigration as a whole is a massive issue. We need E-Verify. We need to go after the big employers who hire people here illegally. And right now the biggest issue is the southern border. Of course there are people over staying there visas. But the border is hot right now. And it has gotten this way because of incompetent leadership and biden.

It's hilarious to read how big an issue the southern border is from folks residing in their comfy mini-mansions, while sucking on tart pops and devouring creme brulee after enjoying a full store-bought meal. So much suffering

Reminds of a poll taken around three or four years ago that showed that support for the border wall was greatest in West Virginia, a state with very few illegal immigrants around 1,000 miles from the Southern border. Support for the wall was greater in WVA than in any of the states actually on the Southern border.

Even though they actually constitute the majority of undocumented immigrants in this country MAGA nation and its Dear Leader much prefer to focus on illegals who have entered or may enter through the Southern border.

And why didn't the Trump administration expel them during it's four years in office considering the Trump made illegal immigration one of its highest priorities? Trump did expel immigrants with temporary protected status even though they had legal status and were law-abiding tax paying residents. Not rational but easy to go after low hanging fruit.

One, because they are not easy to find or catch. Overstaying a Visa is a misdemeanor offense, and in sanctuary cities, the local LEOs aren't even going to ask about immigration status. It's because the local LEOs would rather have the assistance of the immigrant community in helping solve larger crimes, rather than the immigrants worry about talking to any LEO, afraid of being deported. Even then, if the undocumented person who overstays a visa stays out of legal trouble, it's difficult for the Feds to find them.

Second, many of the overstayers are members of their community in otherwise good standing. They not only pay local taxes, but likely file income taxes with an ITIN. Some are even married with citizen kids. Deporting them would not only hurt the immigrant, but also the country as a whole. There is no reason to target people who are contributing to society and staying out of trouble.

Reagan granted amnesty back in 1986, and about a million people came out of the shadows and eventually became citizens. We should do something like that again, following a Gang of 8 style plan, with an expanded guest worker program with a potential pathway for citizenship. Why spend money detaining and deporting people who are working for a living and contributing to society? It would be better to collect taxes from them and allow them to stay, as long as they continue to work and stay out of trouble.

so again to quote " animal farm " all illegals are illegal, just that some are less illegal because they have been here longer, funny how some pick and choose who is breaking the law and who is not.

have these people here illegally after over-staying their visa applied for citizenship? if not why, afraid to come out in the open and be caught as a law breaker and deported, good way to show how they regard the laws here, violate and hide.

Are all laws created equal? Or are some unjust, and worthy of breaking? Should the colonist just have paid the taxes on the tea instead of throwing it into Boston Harbor? Should Rosa Parks just acquiesced and moved to the back of the bus?

Laws that are absolute that serve no purpose to society should be broken and changed. Our immigration laws do a lot more harm than good. They need to be changed. And those that broke them shouldn't be punished.
