Why should they? Illegal immigration nets the country revenue right? I've been told that here about a million times.

So shouldn't these places receiving the migrants be sending Florida and Texas thank you cards?

Wow. Provate contracts to company with unknown beneficiary in Ukraine that has access to Russian helicopters and parts.

Can you imagine if Biden did this? Or even tried to do this? Why not just buy commercial tickets for much less?

Does Texas demand extra aid for additional immigrants? You know this is nothing but spiteful behaivor leading to even more division. Division, exactly what our enemies crave.

Sure. Don't ask Republicans to turn the other cheek when Joe Biden just spent taxpayer money to call half of America a threat to Democracy.

Also, Texas is trying to secure the border. They're trying to minimize costs. Democratic cities are calling places like Texas inhumane. They're marketing themselves as safe havens for illegal immigrants. They promise opportunity and kindness to illegal immigrants, then give themselves a pat on the back for it.

How about this? Earn that pat on the back and pay for your own bad policy with your own damned money.

You don’t earn any virtue points by saying “I think we should do X to help and be better, but you’re going to help me pay for it.”

Why is that a surprise? DeSantis stands with Maduro in oppressing Venezuelans. He doesn’t want them here. He is Letting them know that they should stay in authoritarian Venezuela and they are not welcome in his state.

Yep, I have a good friend who is a R. and runs a very successful construction business. He has no problem employing migrants, just does it thru a third part company.

not half of america, the MAGA component of the republican party. Be very clear about that, he didn't call out the entire republican party. Just the fringe lunatic portion of it who believes that the election was stolen, Jan 6 was a protest, and that state legislatures should decide who the president will be. You know, the vocal minority who pledge allegiance to a man and not a nation who would stop at nothing to manifest their twisted view of how gubmnt should enforce their nationalistic principles. I would say that may be 10 - 15% of the country, far less than half

Although he is the governor of Florida Ron DeSantis real concern isn't with the residents of the state that elected him and will most likely do so again, it's how well he will appeal to potential voters in the 2024 Republican primaries. The flight of migrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard financed by the taxpayers of Florida most likely isn't a one off, but rather the first of many more similar flights.

Immigrants in Texas are allegedly told they have jobs waiting for them. So they agree to get on a plane, end up in a place they didn't expect to be and with no jobs. Ha ha! Jokes on them! Suckers!

And the state of Florida pays for it.

It should be really hard to imagine that anyone would approve of this stunt.

The stunt probably helped DeSantis score points with MAGA voters by demonstrating how he is owning the libs. As previously stated Ron DeSantis real constituency isn't the voters of Florida anymore enough of whom will vote to reelect him no matter what he does but rather prospective voters in the 2024 Republican primaries.

DeSantis' stunt in NOT playing well on hispanic radio especially in S. FL.

This stunt could cost him the election.

DeSantis gets standing ovation from GOP voters after flying migrants to Martha's Vineyard | CNN Politics

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, speaking in Kansas on Sunday, gave every indication he intends to capitalize on the latest wave of attention that has followed from him sending migrants to Massachusetts last week.

“This is a crisis. It’s now getting a little bit more attention,” DeSantis said, earning a standing ovation as he talked about the southern border and nodding to the headlines he instigated when he flew 50 migrants from the border to Martha’s Vineyard.

The reception DeSantis received in Kansas enforced the perception that last week’s ploy accomplished more than raising awareness for the border crisis or diverting migrants who may have eventually ended up in Florida (though none said that was their destination). It also expeditiously thrust the Republican leader, who’s running for reelection this fall, into the national spotlight as he weighs whether to run for president in 2024.

The rally in Kansas marked the fifth stop in a national blitz by DeSantis to boost a new generation of conservative candidates and test his political brand in a tour coordinated by the conservative group Turning Point Action.

It wasn’t half of Americans. It is the 30 percent of Americans who still support Trump and the January 6th coup attempt.

Not every Trump voter is a threat to democracy. Some were just useful idiots(To quote Kruschev, I think). Anyone who still supports Trump is a danger to democracy.
