Agree with you. Either leave it to the experts or don't. But if the whole talking point of the Democrat side the last few years has been "trust the science" then then President doesn't get to unilaterally declare anything as over. Even if, I too, feel he is mostly correct.
Well I wasnt going to quote the entire interview Davis. That was a point blank question and answer. It wasn't set up with much context. You are dodging the point. I'm not going to praise him for waiting until just before midterms to FINALLY have the balls to go against the WHO. Most of us have long since moved on. Dont spend 2 years telling me to listen to science and then openly disagree with science. Its transparent pandering. If DeSantis said the pandemic was over without the WHO blessing it the left would have buried him for being a science denier. Heck, I bet some of our leftist friends here literally changed their opinion about the pandemic tonight.
As far as I can tell, Tilly started this thread just to complain about hypocrisy. Cool, I guess. It seems to me that the vast majority of Americans (including Democrats) are and have been treating the pandemic as essentially over for awhile now. I don't think anybody believes that COVID disappeared. I'll agree with @GatorRade's point he expressed earlier about it not being a purely scientific question. People have had the chance to get vaccinated, and this thing has been around long enough for people to choose how much risk they want to take.
It’s still transitory. This month it’s higher food as gas is down, in two months it will be higher gas again. Eventually it will flatten out after the Fed has crushed it. But not until rates push north of 4%
Sounds like he said it’s over. Now was he out there waving a flag saying it’s over? No that would make it harder for the mask and shot crew to keep their power.
Biden ending the pandemic is even more momentous than Al Gore inventing the Internet, or Bill Clinton immortalizing an obscure intern named Monica Lewinsky. Compared to Covid19, the Internet is the lesser of two evils, the Internet being a combination of good (a wealth of information) and evil (disinformation, in particular such diseased children of the Web as Facebook, Twitter, and Truth (sick) Social). As for the Clinton-Lewinsky affair being evil in comparison, close but no cigar.
We're currently in Italy, been here a week already and the majority do not wear mask. The government only ask that you were asked on public transportation, But no one really enforces it. I don't know how much covid is still around and Italy but this place has been packed everywhere we've been. We've got 10 days left and none of us has gotten sick, Have woke up with a headache a couple of times, self inflicted Our trip is going great And we truly have not even thought about covid.
Can you imagine the total media meltdown if someone else we know had uttered those same words? Yes it would be epic!
The problem these days is, 60 minutes of unudulterated dem party propaganda, just doesn't roll off the tongue well.
"The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We're still doing a lot of work on it. It's -- but the pandemic is over," Biden said. Trump (deservingly) gets ripped for not saying words or for just implying words, but you want to let Biden off the hook for ACTUAL words?
You mean if he said something completely ridiculous like “15 cases down to zero”? Personally I don’t think Biden answered this correctly given we are still seeing hundreds of deaths per day, but then again plenty of legit people have said the “pandemic phase is over” since Omicron variants became prevalent, which was many months ago. So he isn’t exactly stating an “out there” position. It could be the new reality is covid pneumonia kills at least as many as the flu every single year. The WHO is looking at it globally, not just the United States or certain countries with high vaccination rates, so they will probably be the most conservative as far as “officially” declaring it endemic. It should also be noted being declared endemic doesn’t mean the disease is gone.
So should we be listening to the WHO still? Or does Biden choose when we stop? The WHO says we are still in the "marathon" of the "pandemic" and now is not the time to think otherwise with winter weather approaching. (CNN even pointed this out. Ate they playing "gotcha" too?) Is just any thread pointing out something Biden does a "gotcha" attempt to tou? Are you THAT partisan? The left is constantly pounding their chests here with "we all know what so and so meant"...but here they want to ignore what their so and so actually said verbatim? It is a stupid move by Biden. He outright contradicted the WHO. Another gaffe of pandering for November? Either way it is worthy of discussion to anyone not buried in the deep corner of the left.
Lets also remember just how few cases their were globally and here in the US when it was declared a pandemic and the orange moron uttered his stupid words. If it was stupid for him to utter when cases were in the thousands, than it is stupid for Biden to utter when cases are in the millions.
