Don't think so. This is year 5 for Edwards. And it wasn't a total rebuild either. And they went 8-5 last year. This article came out today. If ASU doesn't turn it around during conference season, I doubt Herm survives. Their next 3 games are Utah, USC, and Washington. He may not survive this.
Yea, I recall Arizona St having a decent football history and support. They have underachieved under Edwards, time for a change Id say. I watched one of their games since EJ transferred there. He looked mediocre but didnt get much help. Looking at EJs stats thru three games, not much running yards, but he does have a couple of TD pass and more importantly no picks.
It's being reported on an ASU site that Edwards has been let go. Usually a good source and close to the program.
Just saw that. Herm Edwards just fired after their loss this weekend. Of course his program had all those recruiting violations as well
Every week, half the teams lose and their fans want the coach fired. Every year, 20-25 teams fire their coach, who has a buyout clause in their contract.
Unless Billy absolutely tanks or does something like McElwain that forces the AD’s hand, we have to give him at least 5 full years. We are in a never-ending cycle of hiring and firing that is taking a toll on the program. We no longer have the facilities excuse and our NIL seems to want to compete with GA and Bama all the way. Recruit and be patient.
Yep, it'll take 2 years just to get rid of the stink of Mullen and Grantham. Year 3 is when we start looking at Napier's program.
The post said 5 years, not 3. No competitive fan base is gonna wait 5 years to win these days given NILs and the transfer portal.
