AR will have to suck a lot worse before BN replaces him. Forget about a mop up role as we're not scoring a lot of points. Unless AR gets hurt, I seriously doubt BN will put him in.
For AR to succeed, BN has to get him involved in running. Right now it seems he is better running off of pass plays but we have to play to our strengths and passing the ball ain't it.

Personally, I have a feeling that AR is what he is and what he will be. He is a physical specimen but has never been consistently accurate as stats have revealed. We say, it's because he plays against really good teams. Or, bad games are the exception. Or, he's too inexperienced. Or, he's hurt. Stop with the excuses, he is not good at passing the ball. The hype far exceeded reality.

Did you watch the spring game? The back up QB's currently on the roster are not the answer. They are not good. AR's ceiling is high, just have to let him go through his growing pains and hope he eventually develops more touch and accuracy and limit his turnovers.

Apparently BN doesn't want him to run. IOW he has kept him from succeeding. Which flies in the face of the old coaching bromide about "putting players in position to succeed."

If it's all because BN is scared of him getting hurt, what's that saying that BN came up with about scared money?

If you listen to 1010xl his personal QB coach from 6points said he is allowed to run and it’s more AR not taking advantage of running. Idk but something is way different

He is not a freshman, he is in year 3 of college coaching and most thought Mullen was a QB whisperer. I hope he does somehow develop that touch but right now it seems to be a mental issue with him.

"Scared money" is one thing . . . a dumb gamble is another.

Without an effective back-up ready you and others are willing to risk the season on a single play?

Yea same. Him and the gator nation podcast are the best. Denny (6points) had me super hopeful in the pre season. Really curious on what he says this week.

Being hurt doesn't explain not being able to get the ball out quickly. The Texas backup was hurt and yet still gave an admirable performance against Bama. The first pass of the game he had shorter wide open at the 2nd level but he keyed in on the "safest" option to zipperer. I hoped that would be an aberration but it wasn't

What help? He is not the answer and is not better than AR. Otherwise, CBN wouldn’t have named AR the starter, from the start. Don't overthink think it. Go Gators.

Listen I am a big AR fan. Really want him to right the ship. But when it comes to
Miller if he was good enough to be recruited to Ohio State then he’s got talent.

Didn’t say he wasn’t good talent. Said CBN thinks his talent wasn’t good enough to beat out AR.

You know if AR is having more of a mental crisis of confidence then a less talented Miller could still be a huge upgrade at this point in time. Look up Chuck Knoblach or Mackey Sasser. 2 MLB players that got so mentally screwed up they couldn't make throws back to the pitcher AFTER the pitch was made and there was no action on the field. AR looks unable to make the most basic reads or throws today. Last year he was dropping back planting and throwing with authority even if he made the bad play every now and again. Now we aren't even getting the good plays in between the bad ones.

  18. We as a fanbase have some tough pills to swallow:
    • AR is the only healthy QB capable of running the offense right now.
    • We know nothing of Jack Miller's ability to run the offense when he returns from injury.
    • Former Gator backup Carlos Del Rio-Wilson is not doing well as a backup at Syracuse, and he was slightly ahead of Kitna as the backup here.
    • Napier's long-range plan is to bank on Richardson's upside. Napier and Denny Thompson from 6 Points both see something in that upside (as well as the NFL scouts and the TV sports analysts). It is up to Richardson to perform at the level that these guys see in him.
    • Right now AR is one of the worst-performing QBs in the nation, but we as fans have to believe that something is going to click. We have no other choice--either something clicks with Richardson and his tremendous upside or something clicks with one of the backups and their more limited upside.

It's because Napier knows AR is a glass cannon. What good is he if he's hobbled all season? As big as he is, he gets injured a lot for minor things. USF's QB was getting tackled left and right and not once ever lost his step. Some guys can take a hit, others not so much.

It may say more about how unprepared the backups are and the reality of what him getting hurt would mean. I’d say run him against Tennessee and let the chips fall.
