I do not think most want to close the door. Most want an accounting of who is coming in and why. We know sex traffickers have crossed the border. Drug traffickers cross it daily. We know terrorist have crossed it. Many are tired of seeing 2 million unknown “got aways” crossing illegally with fentanyl, or human trafficking, or whatever and we have no way of stopping or accounting for those 2 million. When Trump wanted to build a “wall”, most saw it not as a way of locking everyone out but as a way to be a gatekeeper and to monitor who comes in and who doesn’t it. Was it a poorly thought out plan and execution.. yes.. but the idea of gatekeeping isn’t a bad one. It’s a safe one. Let those that want work come in… legally and with an accounting system to know who and where and why. Stop the flow of illegal immigrants crossing and disappearing.

Knew it was just a matter of time before you brought up Trump. We all know the drill…when you can’t defend Biden, bring out the Trump card.

I was wondering though that since Biden had his now infamous “inflation reduction” party earlier this week (on the same day it was reported inflation actually increased and the stock market took a major hit), when is he going to do the same for his border control policy, which too has been a disaster. But instead of bringing in James Taylor to sing “Fire & Rain” as he did Tuesday, Biden could instead have Bruce Springsteen sing “Born in the USA”. Hey, it couldn’t be any more embarrassing than what we saw earlier this week on the South Lawn.

They did not lie to them. 7:20 mark DeSantis addresses the issue. As I figured. Most likely the language barrier created confusion. But when they signed the release they were given a map of Martha’s Vineyard.

Yeah, based upon what the immigrants reported, they were given maps of the state and multiple brochures. Somebody should ask DeSantis what other maps were included.

But sure, I bet it was because the state of Florida couldn't find anybody that spoke Spanish in San Antonio.

On a radio I heard an interview with a resident. She said that they had to leave. They just cannot accommodate them.
Chuck Todd stated in his interview with rhe VP that there would be two million people coming across the border this year alone. Does that entitled clueless idiot think border towns in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas have facilities for two million people? Toss in their smug righteousness for finding fifty people food and shelter for a night and that is how you get a Trump elected.

I didn't get it from CNN. It was US News and World Report. But nice assumption. And here is a quote from one of those on the plane:

But sure, New York sounds exactly like Martha's Vineyard to somebody who speaks Spanish.

An important point if people didn't leave in far less than a year to go to their destinations around the country, meaning that there are not going to be 2 million or even close to it at any given time. The state of Massachusetts has facilities for dealing with immigration issues. Those facilities, unsurprisingly, aren't on a fairly isolated island.

You ought to get the evidence DeSantis lied then. I will go with the fact I highly doubt DeSantis is going to publicly state the migrants were given a map of where they were going when it did not happen. Do I think there was confusion due to a language barrier likely involves? Sure.

At the end of the day this was a win win for all sides. Well maybe not for the people showing no empathy in Martha’s Vineyard as they quickly got rid of the migrants.

I just did. The migrants are saying they were lied to specifically, as backed by their lawyers. They stated specifically that they were told they were going to New York or Boston. After getting on the plane, they were handed a packet, which contained a variety of maps and brochures, apparently. The only map specifically mentioned was a state map of Massachusetts.

Of course. We all know how you believe whatever politicians tell you at face value (well, if you decide they are on your team, of course). But the people on the flight are telling a different story than him, and he was never even in the same state as these people.

Lol. How incompetent would the State of Florida have to be to have somebody who doesn't speak fluent Spanish in San Antonio dealing with migrants from Venezuela?

They did not do that. The state brought them to a facility in which they were equipped to provide the services that they would need. The local government nor the local people did anything to "get rid of them." And no, it is not a win for a migrant who is supposed to have check in meetings in other states as early as this week to be dropped off in the wrong state (the state of Florida's agents were listing their intended addresses in a bunch of places, including Florida), which ran the risk of getting them into actual illegal status (even though they were legally here prior to Florida's lies).

Right. A island. so with no experience with dealing with immigration, MV found a facility to house the men women and children that desantis purposely ambushed them with and Desantis had little regard what happened to these people and trump followers enjoy how he disregarded them. But, MV citizens stepped up and gave them so much local authorities told them to hold off because they were overwhelmed with donations. your initial claim “Zero empathy from Martha’s Vineyard for sure” was incorrect. One thing for sure, trump follower sure don’t care what happens to them.

So the decision by the Massachusetts state government to transport the migrants to a facility on a military base better able to provide services to them is indicative of a lack empathy by the residents of Martha Vineyard, a small island whose single facility for the homeless normally doesn't accommodate more the 10 persons. Got it.
The migrants sent to Martha's Vineyard have been voluntarily taken to a military base for support, officials say

Sure. Let’s believe DeSantis over the words of multiple immigrants who said the same thing. Let’s believe they were told they were going to be flown to an island where nobody was expecting them, where there was no place to stay, where there were no jobs waiting and where they were going to have to walk three miles just to get to where there were people to help. It must have been quite the language problem for all of them to have the same misunderstanding about where they were going. Especially since we know the person who spoke to them had to speak Spanish to get their “consent” to get on the flights.

Martha's Vinyard used the military to deport all of the illegal immigrants in less than 36 hours. In other words, they are MAGA nation with real political power.

Well, that is a complete lie. Martha's Vineyard did not deport them, has no control over the military, and they aren't illegal immigrants.

I wouldn't have the Trump card to play if Republican "judges" let Biden make his own immigration policy. Instead, he's been forced to keep Trump's policies and not even allowed to set enforcement priorities. So yep, if you hate what's happening at the border, blame Trump and Republican "judges."

They are still on the island? The National Guard isn't the military? Illegal or paperless, they aren't Martha Vinyard people and they aren't paying for their medical care, children's education, housing or anything else.

El Paso has been getting 1100 a day. I haven't heard any mention of that "humanitarian crisis". Or, how wonderful the people of El Paso are.But they aren't all rich, are they?

Map given. Win for all sides. Minus the snooty Martha Vineyard folk.
