Fine, then at least these sanctuary cities and states should put their money where their mouth is and own the consequences of their own policy, and part of that is now being sent migrants with the expectation that they will follow through on their promises.

If it’s an overwhelming quantity of people, maybe that’s an indication that we should secure the border.

Once again, why does the right only care about the southern border? There are millions here that did not cross the southern border. You act like if we build this impenetrable wall across the southern border that all wrongs will now be right

    It's a start.

I didn't say "all wrongs would be righted." I didn't say "we'd have no more illegal immigration." That is a huge step to addressing the problem, however.

I wasn't referring to you specifically, but my point is the right party leaders don't really want to address anything. "The Border" is just a dog whistle. If they did care then conservative states would have already cracked down on business that employ the undocumented.

Yes, and I'm sure people would be whining if they did that too.

People would absolutely whine about it, but I don't expect a big push for it because they would be hurting their donors. If it ever happens I will be the first to say I was wrong

I actually don't favor that, my point is that there is no winning, someone will whine no matter what.

Securing the border is good policy. Cracking down on business owners who employ illegal immigrants is bad (for both illegal immigrants and the business owners).

My issue with Democrats isn't that they seem to oppose one measure to secure the border, it's that they seem to do everything they can to obstruct any attempt to secure the border, while simultaneously incentivizing people to cross the border because they see such groups entering the country as voting blocs favorable to them.

As usual, where Democrats claim their motives are about compassion, their real motives are about politics. And that's not unique to Democrats, it's the sanctimony and the holier than thou routine that I and many like me hate. At least be honest about being a sleazy politician.

You’re right. It’s not entirely fair. They did render humanitarian aid. For a day. Then the National Guard was deployed to bus them to a military base.

Why is cracking down on business owners who employ illegal immigrants bad?

    The idea that Democrats are-----------------------
Interesting question is who will have a larger campaign war chest for their 2024 run for the Republican nomination, Trump version 2.0 (Ron DeSantis) or the original? My money is still on the original and as I have said before the only way the original doesn't run is if he receives the promise of a blanket pardon from Governor Ron.

It’s not if it’s combined with a reasonable guest worker program.

Border communities are already prepared for it. It's like saying Texans deserved all of their suffering from that horrible winter storm back in 2021 because Northern states don't have trouble with cold weather or blizzards. It displays a real lack of understanding.

Jeez, what a stupid response. You were the one who brought up Hitler, and you apparently can't even remember the underlying point now. That or you're just being dishonest.

Is Texas sending the funds that they get as a border state with the immigrants when sent?
