So does the shingles vax actually work, or do you still get it but keeps you out of the hospital? :D

A day later and I finished a ton of yard work. Arm is a little bit sore but other than that, I wouldn't even remember I got jabbed. And I got a flu shot at the same time

I had shingles and replaced them with a new metal roof. The only pain was financial.

Get one in the other arm, and then you'll be ambi-valent and you won't give a crap.

I have been vaccinated against democrats. After I voted for Biden, I felt it was necessary. So far, I have not had a reaction.

No, they just told me to wait there for 15 minutes after the shot, then I could leave if there was no medical emergency.

No mask if it wasn't mandatory and just using hand sanitizer I've been sick a total of 4 days during the pandemic. No Covid, no shots. Keep in mind, this isn't a covid thing, I don't get flu shots either. I don't like to take pills for headaches or anything like that either, for context. Im almost never sick.

    To each their own.

If you understood what you were talking about, you wouldn't ask. Your comment is not remotely clever.

Shingrix, like the flu vaccine, like the polio vaccine and like the COVID vaccine and most other vaccines prevents disease/severe disease, not infection.

So yes, it actually works, and yes you still get infected (or are already infected from childhood) with the virus and the vaccine keeps you from getting severe disease.

We have had way too many people who, on their death beds, said “I should have gotten the shots.”

Agree. Never had an adverse reaction from a flu shot. The only adverse reaction I had from a Covid jab was a sore arm for around three days after the first booster. Had a fever, chills and generally felt like sh*t after the second Shingles jab although fortunately the side effects were over in around 24 hours. Still very minor compared with actually contracting the illness. I know someone who contracted shingles and he lived through hell for around four weeks.

There are people who have gotten the vaccine and boosters and still have died so the case can be made both ways. I'm not anti-vax, its just not something I want to take part in. Im taking my chances with my body (my body my choice, FTW). Im all for anyone else who wants to get it and agree they are probably better off getting it than not statistically speaking.

The worst reaction I had from the covid shot and boosters was a sore arm for a day or two. I took both shingles vaccines in the last year and a half and didn't have a reaction to them at all. I did take the second shingles shot on a Friday in case I did have a reaction, but none came.

My mother in law dealt with shingles for about 3 months. She was miserable to say the least.
The flu shot never bothered me. I always had a bad reaction to the cholera and typhoid shots I got in the service. The anthrax series didn’t bother me either.
None of the Covid vaccines and booster bothered me other than a little sore in the arm. I had both the Pfizer and Moderna series and the Pfizer booster.
