In Massachusetts? I am sure there are plenty of jobs and housing. In a small island town with substantial seasonality that is reaching the end of their busy season, no, there likely aren't jobs and housing. I know this is a crazy thought, but maybe people are capable of figuring out where there are jobs and housing themselves, often based on the location of their existing family or friends in the country.

    Lol.

Tell them that you will send them to New York or Boston. Send them to Martha's Vineyard. When the people of Martha's Vineyard treat them well, they suddenly became New York or Boston so it wasn't a lie?

How many of the immigrants were offered jobs and housing upon arrival in Martha's Vineyard? Just asking. And once again the Venezuelans weren't illegals they had pending claims of asylum.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I believe you are capable of rejecting bigots, racists, and those who attack our democracy. I hope you will choose to reject them.

If every politician you don’t like happens to qualify under one of those, I’m good.

I’ll judge for myself who the bad guys, racists, bigots, and threats are.

Crist does very little that I like. But I've said it on here a bunch of times. Neither party is small gov/fiscally conservative. So if these are my choices I'll go with the party that at least lines up with most of my social views on freedom. Namely, " if it isn't hurting anyone else, mind your own business." The GOP continues to slide away from small govt and more towards authoritarianism. As shown by Ron.

Last politician that I voted for that aligned with my views in a lot of ways would be Gary Johnson or Ron Paul.

Actually, it's a horrible way about bringing change. I'd say it's a horrible attempt, but it's not even that. It's merely a way of garnering support from people who hate immigrants. In a country made up almost entirely of immigrants. Weird

The immigrants were Venezuelans and S Fla has a huge Venezuelan population that actually assists new immigrants. Not to mention they mostly voted for DeSantis last round due to the commie scare.
If DeSantis really wanted to do something positive, why not use taxpayer money to relocate those Venezuelans in Texas to Doral or some other S Fla city. There would have been a support system already in place. The answer is obvious.

I'm wondering how these people get back to Texas or anywhere else for their court dates. The irony here is that the gov has just spread more immigrants throughout the country who will probably disappear into the system and encourage more to cross the border.

What’s your take on Democratic handling of the pandemic, shutting down businesses and schools?

So the women who were apparently acting on behalf of DeSantis and induced the immigrants to fly to Massachusetts from Texas based on promises of jobs and housing upon arrival told the truth?

Sure, it may be a positive if you just want political points and dont care about the immigrants and the unprepared cities where you are transporting them. It does nothing for the actual issue. Yep, Florida has plenty of illegals, maybe DeSantis should address those first before interfering in other states.

It takes two sides to address the issue as Im sure you know. Both are to blame, but so far nothing has a chance of getting thru the Senate. It would seem easy to at least solve the DACA kids issues but not even that has any traction in the Senate.

Then everyone better either prep to take in more, or agree to secure the border.

The result will be a net positive in the long run.

Generally speaking, okay with it. A few things that could have been done differently with the benefit of hindsight. But to get to the point you're trying to get to, my freedoms are also freedoms from unnecessary exposure to a pandemic. And other people's freedoms don't include doing whatever they want if it may harm others.

I don't know if DeSantis still has Florida law enforcement officers on the Texas border, but he seems to have a thing with Texas.

The residents of Martha's Vineyard specifically and Massachusetts in general have shown the compassion to accept the migrants. That still doesn't change the fact that the migrants were induced to fly to Massachusetts based on lies and false premises.
