I am actually aware that some Republicans have backed off from the Party's longtime policy of welcoming all Cuban immigrants. Although I am not a resident of Florida and am not that familiar with her I was surprised that Jeanette Nuñez was among them considering that she is the daughter of a Cuban exile. Kind of reminds me of Stephen Miller, former President Trump's extremely anti-immigrant advisor on matters of immigration. Miller's grandparents and great grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. Under the policies promoted by Miller they would have never been permitted to enter the US.
Stephen Miller Is an Immigration Hypocrite. I Know Because I’m His Uncle.

That has literally nothing to do with what I said. Want to try again?

Calling people that are legally residing here "illegals" is racist. Do you think people should call people legally residing in this country "illegals," and why do you think somebody might do that?

Pushaw says the comments were taken out of context.

“(Nuñez) clearly said that those who come illegally should be transported out of Florida, no matter where they came from,” Pushaw said. “If someone came to Miami on a raft from Cuba to escape communist repression, that person is legal (because they’re a) refugee. This isn’t hard to understand.”

Lt. Gov. says DeSantis will send migrants to Delaware, but does that include Cubans?

Yeah, we didn't force them onto the planes. We just lied about where the planes were going and what was on the other side! Good defense.

When you don't view people as humans, it makes what you do to them (e.g., lying to them and using them as political props rather than human beings to try to own other human beings) not matter. Perhaps you should reflect on how you ended up at that place.

Do have a clue what a sanctuary city is? It's simply a city where local law enforcement don't ask or do anything in regards to immigration status. The reason is local LEOs need cooperation from all residents in order to solve crimes. If immigrants are worried the police will deport them, they won't help local police solve crime, including violent crimes such as murder. The locals LEOs are correct in thinking it's better to have an otherwise law abiding undocumented immigrant on the street versus a murderer.

Know what is a true easy solution? Allow the immigrants to sign up with a guest worker visa. Allow employers to to post jobs where they need help and are struggling to find workers. Then allow supply of labor to meet demand.

And while agriculture is one of the areas with labor issues, there are others. Construction, for one, and nursing home/elderly care, as another.

Try to consider yourself in the situation of a person fleeing Venezuela. Why do you think they left? Why do you think they have sought asylum? What was their alternative to getting on the plane or bus?

Agree. While this article is five years old, it's premise is still valid.

If you're referring to their decision to leave Venezuela does that also apply to Cubans who decided to leave the Island from 1959 onward? If you referring to their decision to leave San Antonio and fly to Massachusetts keep in mind that they were told that they would be flying to Boston and that housing and jobs would be waiting for them upon arrival. You think they would have agreed to leave if they knew they were being flown to a community with neither housing nor jobs?

According to one spokesperson these immigrants traveled through 10 countries to get here…
At what point does the rule of country of first entry play a role. I was under the impression that asylum seekers had to do so in the first country they crossed into… not travel through an entire continent to get to their desired location.

Yes or no, are people legally residing in this country as they seek asylum "illegals?"

Once again, why does the GOP never talk about those that come via other US borders? Why is it only the southern border?

People who think like you are going to seriously erode any common sense that might be left in the US.
