But does it make a difference that the Venezuelans were flown from San Antonio, Texas to Martha's Vineyard at the expense of Florida taxpayers although they never actually set foot in Florida and that the overwhelming majority if not all of them were legally in the US pending review of their claims for asylum?

So why can't Big Law Ron round them up here? Why does he need to snatch them from another state after luring them in with some candy?

It matters, but it doesn’t flip the calculus of putting the problem of illegal immigration in Democrats’ backyard.

If Martha’s Vineyard can only handle 50 genuine asylum cases for one day. How do you think they can handle the entire border emergency at their doorstep?

So in the end, it’s a net positive. Illegal immigration affects Florida, this is a good way of bringing about policy change to address illegal immigration.

Not the fine folks of Martha's Vineyard but the fine Governor of Florida. One device used by human traffickers is the inducement of victims through false promises. The Venezuelans who as I previously mentioned in other posts were induced to fly to Martha's Vineyard by being told that they were flying to Boston and that jobs and housing would be waiting for them upon arrival.

Are you saying there are no illegal immigrants in Florida?

So are they better off in Texas or Massachusetts?

Also, you butted in but haven’t answered this question, “why should the border states be forced to deal with the bulk of the burdens of illegal immigration?”

Don't answer a question with a question. Why doesn't DeSantis gather up the illegals here and send them out?

So the way to address illegal immigration is to induce legal migrants (they surrendered at the border and had legal status based on pending claims of asylum) and to induce them to fly to a destination over a thousand miles away based on the false promise of jobs and housing. Got it.

So there is no jobs and housing in Massachusetts? Despite claiming to be a safe haven for illegal immigrants, they say “don’t send them here, we can’t help them.”

    Got it.

I don't think you are racist, bigoted, or a deplorable threat to our democracy. But I do find it curious that you work so hard to defend those who are. Why do you willingly tie yourself to people like that?

Are you saying that the US immigration policy was fixed in 2016-17 when Pubs held the House, Senate, and WH?

Because your standard for what makes up those things happens to be incredibly over broad.

Maybe the Feds should reimburse border states for the costs associated with illegal immigration and while they may have done so to the best of my knowledge neither Governors Abbot, Ducey or DeSantis have take that approach preferring highly publicized stunts instead.

That isn't what happened. When the trafficking victims arrived, the good people helped them.

Where are you getting your news from?

What are my standards for those things? I would like to get properly calibrated if my standards are too broad.

No you don't got it, sadly. The state of Massachusetts has legally allowed for sanctuary cities to exist. Three cities have chosen to be designated as such. Did Comrade DeSantis choose one of those? Of course not, since it wasn't enough photo op/publicity for him. He's a despicable human.
