Quite a few immigrants around in both the area where I now live and where I lived immediately prior to this. We probably need more, although that is restricted by how much immigrants are needed around the country right now.

No, he is being cruel to the people by treating them as if they are not actual people with their own preferences as to where they will live based on things like where their families are or where their preferred jobs are. He is also being an authoritarian by acting like the government should be telling people where they should live when they are legally allowed to be here.

I come from a family of immigrants, I don't hate my own family.

I understand the benefits of immigrants. I also recognize the importance of vetting them, having fair rules in place to becoming an American citizen or working here, and not having a "free-for-all" of people coming through the border with the expectation that the state will take care of them all.

This is a lesson that Democrats either know (the fact that they're whining about this is a tell), or are about to learn. Hence, I'm glad the immigrants were treated with such grace at Martha's Vineyard, I look forward to DeSantis sending more their way. If more immigration is always a benefit, they should be thanking him.

Yes, there are some media sources that reported the lie told by DeSantis (it should be noted that your first source actually reported it with quotation marks to distance themselves from the claim, which they mentioned was likely not true (it wasn't)):

The surprising details behind DeSantis' and Abbott's immigration stunts - CNNPolitics

Why do you think DeSantis made a false claim?

Wrong. You did not read carefully enough or search. They were lied to and flown from Texas to Martha's Vinyard by DeSantis. Not Florida. Indefensible.

Migrants Were Flown to Martha's Vineyard from Texas, Not Venezuela

What we know so far about the migrants sent to Martha’s Vineyard by Ron DeSantis

Migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard describe how they got to Mass.

Also, correction: "this whole country became great because of immigrants."

That doesn't mean we should't have rules for who comes in, when they come in, how they come in, citizenship eligibility and eligibility to work.

Democrats seem to call every attempt at regulating immigration by Republicans bigotry, so they can enjoy this.

I'm just quoting the mainstream media. Maybe call out their misinformation?

Also, as far as DeSantis's actions, defensible. Actually encouraged. Keep it coming.

First rule of the modern right: government should be just large enough to provide you dopamine bursts of owning some libs.

    1. Don't pretend to care about conservatism when you don't.
    2. This is worth it.

I don't care what your family's background is. When you post "Not in my Neighborhood," that is who you are.

    Just stop the sanctimony.

I'm actually for small government and fiscal conservatism. Clearly you aren't. Nor is the GOP anymore. Just a bunch of trolls lapping up nonsense like this.

Me? Stop the sanctimony? Are you kidding me?

Almost every post on this thread is bitching about how terrible Republicans who support this are, and how good the people who are against this move are, but simultaneously love a "free-for-all" at the border.

No, you don't get to lecture me about sanctimony, when you are dripping with sanctimony and self-righteousness.

I want want vetted immigrants in my neighborhood. They want all immigrants in their neighborhood, then they're mad when DeSantis sends them immigrants. As far as I'm concerned, they can enjoy it.

We do have rules. TPS for immigrants makes these Venezuelans legal. And TPS for Venezuelans was a Republican policy.

By the way, so is the asylum process.

"Not in my neighborhood" is bigotry. Calling these immigrants "illegal" is ignorance. After your are told that the immigrants are not "illegal," if you persist in calling them "illegal," you have no excuses.

    Both are not illegal.

These immigrants were lied to to induce them to take this trip.

Good lesson to Democrats. Don't even consider voting for these people.

    1. If "not in my neighborhood" is bigotry, get ready for more of this and I don't want to hear any more whining from you.
    2. Don't get mad at me for trusting the media you told me to trust.
    3. Good lesson for Democrats, if more immigration is ALWAYS good, they shouldn't have any problem with every immigrant being sent their way. In fact, they should be sending a thank you card. Meanwhile, they were actually sent 50, and people are acting like it was overwhelming.

    As per usual, projection.

If this weren't projection, you wouldn't be so mad, you would be happy.

oh that's rich. on this very site you have confused pubs with cons. that is a fact & demonstrates cluelessness. This is speculation: you probably think Reagan was a limited gov guy/con.
