I have been following the data and questioning terrible public health policy and practices from the beginning.

    The propaganda is strong.

It really stinks that we have ignored science through this pandemic to the degree we have.

Good grief. We let international visitors come to our country if they take the shots. Yet do not allow them to come if they have not. Knowing natural immunity is superior (forget the boost it is irrelevant) and that the shots do not prevent one from spreading the disease. Serology and the reality these shots do not prevent spread shows how we are following the antithesis of science in this country.

Yes! They actually acknowledge natural immunity. Something our idiot public health officials continue to ignore (at least the ones pushing policy).

Answer the question. Seatbelts. They were dangerous for the guy in the link. Are they dangerous and should we stip pushing them? I'm not rationalizing, I'm drawing a logical parallel that we all use every single day.

Q’s version of “following the science”
is anyone who takes his side on the matter, lol. He thinks Desantis actually followed the science despite all the numbers and facts pointing to Florida being one of the absolute worst states in the US for Covid sickness and death. Yay! Following the science all the way to the top!

This is flat wrong. Florida is the Gold Standard. Hence the reason so many are moving here. At levels never seen.

I don't feel seatbelts are a good analogy for all people getting the covid shot. For anyone over 30, for sure. Males under 30 with no underlying issues shouldn't get the vaccine because the risk for myocarditis is higher from the vaccine than covid itself for males under 30. And zero kids without serious underlying conditions should get the vaccine. That data has been shown so much by me that I don't need to repost it. Seatbelts on the other hand are good for everyone(save babies in a baby seat)

Absolutely 100% incorrect. Just because people are moving here doesn’t mean Desantis followed any type of science. People always move to Florida because we have no state income tax, among many other reasons. Simply put, he’s pandering to the “Freedumb” simpletons to get votes, that’s all it is and has been the whole time. Political theater by a petty wannabe authoritarian fascist.

No. He actually looked at the data and led accordingly. With one of the oldest and largest populations he did everything right. With the covid shot rollout. Getting kids in school he was the leader. He followed the data. He sought the information on the disease from experts and led accordingly. Sadly our public health officials decided to peddle propaganda and it has caused generational damage.

The whole. From protecting the elderly the best we could. To prioritizing the shots early on when there was some efficacy. To getting kids back in school. To allowing people to work and provide for their family.

There is a reason Florida is in its own discussion when it comes to people moving here.

    Just FYI, 2020-2021, Florida was:
    second in numerical growth
    eighth in percentage growth.

We agree. Im not a fan of pushing the shot on young healthy people. I am just pointing out that most things in our world that protect masses may still harm the few. Its a basic math issue.

Some will die BECAUSE of a life jacket.
Some will die BECAUSE of a seat belt.
Some will die BECAUSE of a car seat.
Some will die BECAUSE of a heart surgery.

And yes... Some may die BECAUSE of a vaccine.

I am just trying to find out why this is where some people draw their line in the sand

We didn't do any of those things in a way that is measurably better than the rest of the country. In fact, on many of those metrics we were in the middle of the pack.

Do you have any evidence that supports your claims?

    Did a google search for:
    covid florida leads nation

Turns out we have been leading the nation in a couple of categories. A Gold Standard, if you will.

    The first four results:
Florida leads nation COVID deaths though cases keep declining

    https://states.aarp.org/florida/flo...19-deaths-of-nursing-home-residents-and-staff

Florida leads the nation in percentage of residents living in high-risk coronavirus counties

CDC: Florida leads country in COVID deaths for a third straight summer

Back in October we did lead the nation in having the lowest case rate:
Florida Reaches Lowest Case Rate in the Nation

Pretty much. Anyone can google search and find the data for themselves, and it’s not pretty. Saying Desantis handled it well and is the “gold standard” is simply laughable.

Florida by far the best of any large state. Shocking that google wouldn't have this out there since they are so impartial...

Do you think that the Committee To Unleash Prosperity is an impartial source that utilized well accepted methods in assessing pandemic response based on prior public health literature? Or was that an ad hoc metric designed to produce a result?
