Chad Simmons from On3 mentioned that Jordan Hall is basically down to UGA and UF. He also mentioned that Walker is keeping an eye on us and UF is still recruiting him hard.

 

You know, I haven't heard much of anything myself and i found that a bit surprising as well. Yea a few little quotes from Jordan Hall, John Walker, and DJ Lagway, but not much from anyone else

Recruiting is the only way out of the rut we are in.

Kirby Smart was 100% correct in the way he humiliated Mullen last year. Recruiting IS everything. Georgia’s overwhelming talent is masking any defficiencies Kirby has as a coach.

These days we have to be ready if the upperclassmen get passed by and prefer to transfer. Next year we could be left with 1jr, 1so, 1fr. The responsible thing to do is get 1 more this year.

 

Oh I don’t blame them for taking two. They tried to take Citizen with Etienne last year. It’s pretty apparent they are looking for a type of back the last staff didn’t have or value.

 

100% AGREE!!! Georgia is light years ahead of us in recruiting but not in coaching. If Spurrier had the players at Georgia, he would already have a dynasty!

 

TJ, agreed, the return to W-L prominance shall more than likely be defined by a return to recruiting prominance, especially in the state of Florida.
So far so good this cycle, but we still need to close on a few of the top 20 Florida kids to really make it sweet.

Having said that, I hope that UF will initiate contacts with TAMU signee's from last year when it's appropriate. They had a heck of a haul.

Jimbo does not have the luxury of being mediocre this deep in his tenure at TAMU. Josh Pate is already speaking the Transfer Portal language about that Freshman Class.

While it is speculative to expect TAMU to fall apart this year it is not far fetched either. We will know more this Saturday.

Like CBN said, UF is now in the "Talent Aquisition Business" - well there is a deep well to drink from at TAMU if the season falls apart for them, IMO.

 

No point in keeping OOC games with conference opponents, even if one of the games is before 2025, as the return game would be cancelled. Might as well start looking for replacements as soon as possible.

 

Appalachian state might be up for it.

 

Our safety play currently is a direct reflection of the lack of recruiting success of our former Safety Coach. Recruiting failures are often felt 3 years later in lack of depth and effectiveness.

 

Would love for 13 and 5 to be our safeties man. 0 and 22 are just what they are....just guys

 

Sadly, sometimes one or more of them is less than “just a guy”. Just a guy makes the basic plays and nothing more. Current Strong safety especially making huge mistakes and often. Worse than just a guy too often.
