Actually, I think you're confusing the number of Russian troops sent to Ukraine with the combined total of Russians killed, wounded, captured or which deserted in Ukraine. Russia has lost up to 80,000 troops in Ukraine. Or 75,000. Or is it 60,000?

Just one clarification, the Ukrainians didn't occupy an area devoid of Russians when they launched their offensive. Russian troops were in Kharkiv until they fled leaving massive amounts of equipment behind. Although it happened over 50 years ago reminds me of the way the Egyptian Army fled from the Israelis in the Sinai in the 6-day War back in 1967. As far as Kherson is concerned Ukrainian progress is slower than it was in Kharkiv considering that the Russians were prepared for the Ukrainian offensive although even there the Ruskies are being pushed back albeit slowly.

If the Russian troops are absent and the Ukraine forces lose 1-2 brigades and 40% of their equipment, the obvious intelligent strategy would be to immediately withdraw from all Ukraine territory and await the inevitable complete Ukrainian self-destruction. OR it could be you are 100% FOS.
FYI: the ‘abandoned equipment’, down to the bicycles, is fakery, likely old photos from places like Crimea. This was an orderly withdrawal, no panic. Russians knew of the counter-offensive in advance and wasn’t stupid enough, as NATO would have been, to try and hold territory with a garrison vs. multiple brigades.

back of envelope math ... Reportedly, Russia controlled over 132,000 sq km of land prior to last week. Then, Ukraine reportedly took 8,000 sq km. The counter-offensive was said to have been six months in the making. So Ukraine would need something like 17 more such operations, over a period of 8 1/2 years, with infusions of hundreds of thousands of NATO troops and tens of scores of billions of new weapons to eject the Russians from Ukraine. Of course it would have to hope that Russia voluntarily withdrew from every point of insertion before hand. Also, and since multiple cancers have failed to fell Putin, he would have to take Pfizer vaccines to finish him off.
