Shame on them for government overreach. Did I do that right?

Depends on the properties of the disease (how does it spread, how deadly), but I think “1% as deadly as the disease” is more than reasonable for a respiratory contagion.

Just go to the extreme end of your hypothetical, if a highly contagious disease was 100% fatal to humans, but a vaccine had 1% deadly complications I’m pretty sure you’d want to take that vaccine.

Fortunately with COVID the calculation is 1% deadly for the disease vs. almost nil
    for the vaccine.

It appears this thread has been overcome by the anti-vax, anti-science, ant-Fauci, anti-facts crowd. That was predictable, given the nature of a global pandemic and the weak inclination for "I told ya so" ideology.

There’s a new Facebook group named “Died Unexpectedly.”

Two weeks ago it had 18,000 members and has since grown to nearly 250,000 members.

Also, vaccines are the leading cause of coincidence.

Wow, one would think dead people would have better things to do than join Facebook groups.

Because funeral directors have experience preparing bodies for embalming doesn't make them skilled pathologists. Just saying. Completion of a 2-year program in mortuary science is not the equivalent of a medical degree.

Typical of rick "Romanian side FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharest, will not drop players who have received the COVID-19 vaccine after their owner Gigi Becali suggested they would no longer be selected, the club said on Wednesday. Becali, the flamboyant owner of the club, told Romanian TV channel Pro X that vaccinated players would not be allowed to play as they are weaker. However, the club said that would not be the case, adding that Becali was only joking." Romania's FCSB deny owner's suggestion to not pick vaccinated players | Toronto Sun

Seems there's just no end to the disinformation the extreme right produces. As a matter of personal pride, I'd be embarrassed to post crap like that and pass it off as truth.

Read something the other day, an averages 316 people I think it was are still dying daily from Covid in average.
That’s over 100k a year still. 85 percent over 65, most others with multiple underlying conditions, but still amazing that we have gotten to the point where 100k deaths seems ok.

316 was back in June. We are a little under 500 these days. Unfortunately more states have moved to Florida's reporting methodology, so we are getting underreported numbers until 3-4 weeks back. 4 weeks ago we were just over 500 deaths per day. 3 weeks ago it was closer to 480.

We tapered off from the last big spike in April, since then numbers have been pretty flat, but we've lost another 50-ish thousand Americans since then.

What do you mean by a hoax ? A conscious effort, on the part of governments, to terrorize their populations with a fictitious threat ? I would say, no. Not a conscious effort.

Mark 2020 as the year everyone forgot we’re all going the die. Churches were especially shameful in this regard. The church my wife and I were attending shut dow for over a year, only to reopen to smaller attendances by lottery.
