I would be less concerned with that now. That really seems like a Jimbo thing. They haven’t pulled anything like that since Taggart and Norvell have been there. Kids commit after going on OVs all the time.
I agree if the atmosphere was similar to Utah I think this was still fine. It wasn’t as though UF was blown out at home 42-3 or looked completely out of it. The defense played well 80% of the game and we played a bunch of Fr/RFr all over the field. CBN and AR took responsibility for the game and we can move on. I am actually not upset they threw the ball a lot with Lagway and Davis in the crowd.
I’ve got some fsu friends high as a kite that they are 2-0…when I pointed out their wins were against a totally revamped team who was 7th in the SEC west last year and Duquesne who has one div 1 victory in their history they looked confused and befuddled. It was honestly a shock to them they were two terrible opponents they beat. So no FSU you didn’t beat Georgia and Bama back to back…you beat a bad and very average team.
Friday at UofL is going to be a tricky one for them but if they can get through that and BC to start out 4-0....watch out. That stretch following is going to be tough though; WF, @ NC State, then Clemson. I think they lose those 3, lose to Miami, and UF.
Sometimes a loss can be more galvanizing to recruits than a win. Unless they're fans of the opposing team, they become more galvanized in their fandom. In this case, the defensive prospects saw a great opportunity to play early, especially defensive linemen. Seeing so many true freshman playing was certainly encouraging. Lagway sounds like a UF lean now. He believes Billy is the real deal and sees an opportunity to be part of a something big at UF the next few years. He thinks this is the perfect offense for him.
Exactly, I'm sure they noticed wrs open, dropped balls and missed throws. Top guys like these see themselves in there making those throws and winning the game.
Exactly, add in the large amounts of 1st and 2nd year guys getting lots of playing time if not pushing for the starting spot. Love that CBN is not afraid to play true freshman and sophs(or redshirt fresh). That alone will be the biggest sell to alot of these kids.
