    1. This was discussed about a month ago when it happened.
    2. He shouldn't have said it. A poor attempt at humor.
    3. He didnt "threaten" anyone.

Pretty tepid statement considering the little elf terrorized and gaslighted Americans for two and a half years.

    1. This is election season and things like this need to be repeated.

    2. It was Trumpian humor.

    3. Inciting violence against someone is no different than committing violence.

That’s a worn out excuse that didn’t age well. Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of families who lost loved ones because of those who said it was just like the flu. SMH. But by all means keep fighting diseases by taking horse medicine with a urine chaser and an UV light up your rear.

When the governor of our state and what you would rather be the front runner for the Republican nomination for president in the 2024 election says this... You should get those feelings you have before 2016 and finalize by 2020, tingling in your body. Absolute power, absolutely corrupts. You know why he shouldn’t have said it, but his poll numbers tell him a different story. He has shown you who he wants to be. He doesn’t seem to be the Republican that can bring the party back to normalcy.

I used to think that DeSantis was a reasonable person playing to the base to gain a better standing with the Republican base. After the Trump years I know longer think such naïve thoughts.

Tilly has hitched his 2024 wagon just like he did his 2016 one: too early and to another ass.

    1. Need to be repeated? Um... No they dont. Its a month old statement that was already debated here.

    2. It was a lame political shot.

    3. Inciting violence? Good lord. He was saying we need to throw him out of Washington.

Have you never watched a game and said that guy should have his butt tossed out?

    Were you inciting violence?

It was a literal geographic statement.

You are familiar with where and what the Potomac represents in his comment, no?

He said throw Fauci out of Washington. The horror!

The elf comment is all I take issue with.

Do you think Biden is more of a troll, or an orc? :)

It is true--I've never seen Biden drink maple syrup. (My daughter may be an elf--we just got her cured from drinking the maple syrup.)

Another example of Ron DeSantis going after the votes of MAGA nation should he run for the presidency. While his statement was nothing more than a feeble attempt at humor members of the Cult of the Donald love threats of violence to their perceived enemies and Dr. Fauci is near the top of their list.

Not sure how it's "off-topic" since the post goes directly to Ron DeSantis motivation for the statement that is the main topic of this thread.

There’s no need to be insulting. Some in the MAGA fold aren’t exactly Rhodes scholars, and would understand his comment to be a call to action. You’re a smart person and you know this but excuse it anyway. SMH

Seriously, self-promoters and demagogues like Ron Desantis, who cannot impress by knowledge or skills relevant to social cohesion and the health and welfare of Americans, resort to character assassination. He has nothing else to offer. So, like Donald Trump, he appeals to the mob mentality model of social cognition, to people who can be convinced to hate frankly credible and positive contributors to civilization. This trend is not a good thing. Over a million Americans have been killed by COVID-19 Tilly, and the attainment of scientific knowledge is always fluid. Bottom line is Desantis is a low-level political hack not fit to govern.
