“A former FBI official said former President Donald Trump may have wanted to keep top-secret documents about a foreign power because of the astronomical price that country — or its adversaries — might pay for such information.

He added that such information had "potentially the greatest value" if one were to try to "market it and capitalize" on having such files.

"Well, first, a country would give its right arm to learn what the US knew about its nuclear program and capabilities, not only for the obvious reason of, 'Hey, they figured this out,' but also because it would signal what we don't know about their program," Figliuzzi said.”

Ex-FBI official says Trump's nuclear information had high 'price tag'

Speaking of Judge shopping, this isn’t the first time he desperately tried to get before this Judge. In the case against Clinton and Comey, which just got tossed, he filed his complaint in the same division, only fortuitously was unlucky in the assignment.

that would seem to be enough to get her tossed from this current case, let alone her totally baseless ruling

I decry the “Defund the FBI!” movement. Without the FBI, how are we going to keep tabs on each other ? Perhaps, what about all the TV series we’d have to cancel ?

I think her finances might need to be reviewed. Trump buying judges now?

Most of the federalist society judges have given Trump the finger, so I was inclined to think it was just that this one was a bit of a judicial neophyte, a bad ruling, rather than corrupt.

Still, that he tried to judge shop for the same judge *twice* on different matters begs some questions. It’s definitely not a good look for this judge, esp with the ludicrous ruling.

I know for local and circuit judges someone can run against them in an election. Is there any recourse if a judge like this becomes "compromised?"

I can't think of a worse motive to suspect someone of let alone a FPOTUS and I hope its not so. But its only hope.

Trump and Lindsay Graham were hanging out at Mar-a-Lago and playing golf with a woman named Anna de Rothschild. It turned out her real name is Inna Yashchyshyn. She might already have the top secret documents.

I’ve come to expect the worst with this crook. Especially when it came out these were top secret and defense related materials. I immediately jumped to the idea he was probably shopping these materials for $$$ or had aims to do that in the future.

This was a guy that famously didn’t even read his daily briefings, so the curious thing is how he even compiled this cache of top secret and SCI documents. Even as POTUS how did they end up staying with him? Were these items just stashed throughout White House tenure by Trump himself, or did someone make “selections” for him, the concerning thing is someone else (or multiple someones) had to have had a hand in this. Even if Trump was hoarding them, moving them to Mar-A-Lago is a separate matter. Shouldn’t have happened.

yeah, I know but the bread crumbs still dont reach across the chasm from one to the other. How horrible is it that this conversation is not pure spy novel pulp? I truly want to find out what the motive was. Very important to me.

That's what's so frustrating about this delay tactic. The investigation should be moving at full speed right now. Our national security is at risk, as are many of our assets abroad. I wonder how many have be exfiltrated since the documents were recovered or how many operations have been shut down.

I believe it's been posted before, but this NY Times Article from Oct, 2021 is very troubling given light to the fact that Trump held information on CIA informants at MAR.

Top American counterintelligence officials warned every C.I.A. station and base around the world last week about troubling numbers of informants recruited from other countries to spy for the United States being captured or killed, people familiar with the matter said.

The message, in an unusual top secret cable, said that the C.I.A.’s counterintelligence mission center had looked at dozens of cases in the last several years involving foreign informants who had been killed, arrested or most likely compromised. Although brief, the cable laid out the specific number of agents executed by rival intelligence agencies — a closely held detail that counterintelligence officials typically do not share in such cables.

The cable highlighted the struggle the spy agency is having as it works to recruit spies around the world in difficult operating environments. In recent years, adversarial intelligence services in countries such as Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan have been hunting down the C.I.A.’s sources and in some cases turning them into double agents.
It could be just coincidence, but in addition to the "Rothchild" at MAR, we know of a Chinese spy caught on the grounds. And MAR was known to be a spy magnet.

Again, there is no definitive connection yet, but the facts fit the narrative that Trump was the leak that was compromising all the CIA foreign operatives. Who else has or would be this careless with this kind of top secret, sensitive information?

Remember the CIA reports of all the captured or killed spies

'Astounding': Trump documents reveal casual disregard for long-standing security protocols

Meanwhile, the trove of records found at Mar-a-Lago, including documents designated as "HCS" – a reference to clandestine human sources and some of the government's most guarded information – is continuing to sound alarms throughout the U.S. intelligence community.
    .........
If that was me, I wouldn't have the luxury of sitting at a golf resort somewhere talking to lawyers, having lawyers file motions. I'd be doing all that from a jail cell somewhere,” Pfeiffer said. “And it wouldn't have been two years after I left office or retired; it would have been almost from the moment they discovered that maybe I still had some documents sitting around in my basement."
Apart from the potential legal jeopardy, Pfeiffer said the possible damage to the intelligence community is profound.
“I worry greatly about the harm that could have come to intelligence sources and methods, to the lives and well-being of our intelligence officers, to all the hard work that people have put in over years to cultivate sources and having that be just so capriciously disregarded,” Pfeiffer said. “And to have that all done by the president of the United States just makes it even worse.

I see the circle jerking, on all sides, has not abated on this subject. We see what we want to see. I am happy for you all as you live firmly ensconced in your corral of choice. I prefer discernment over idiot righteousness.

This one is going the way I expected: a HUGE overreach by the DOJ for some nefarious (self-serving?) reasons and perhaps a really stupid action or two by Trump and Company (like opening his mouth) but in the end nothing dramatic. Those of you who are waiting for the damn game to finish and your side to be proclaimed the winner, don't you think it plausible that the game that is being played is EXACTLY what they want, Trump's side including?

We are in one of two scenarios: we are seeing the direct and unwavering coup of the US by some globalist elites and they are using these kinds of "crises" to keep us engaged and ignorantly unaware whilst being stupidly righteous, or we are seeing Rome 2.0 and we are all fat, happy and stupid while we let ambitious folks basically trash and ultimately destroy our country via a corporatocracy.

Either way, the scenarios are pure crap. We remain asleep and we die. That is all there is.

I'm still waiting during these Special Master deliberations to hear Trump's team say he declassified all these documents.

It's almost like the rubes get one story on right wing media but it's an entirely different ball game when someone has to put something on the legal record under threat of perjury.
