Who cares what the percentage is. If tour is a high as you say, and it probably is, then the movement is even more dangerous and normal people need to understand this even more.

You keep taking that statement out of context. That was not his definition of a MAGA Republican. That was his criticism of their policy positions. He clearly defined the danger to Democracy from MAGA, which you keep ignoring.

He can’t put what was said in context. Because he just skips those parts. Guess why.

Gore was Vice President and had to stand where Mike Pence did. He didn’t claim the authority to reject the votes from Florida.

That is what I said, it is also explicitly what Biden said. What elevates it to a threat to our democracy or our republic is when people won't accept the results of elections or resort to violence in their political efforts.

I should have guessed based on the question set and the lack of a respondant count.

I gave a lengthy and thought out answer to your primary question but it’s par for the course for me to not answer your moronic question about whether anyone who questions an election result is a traitor? You’re a piece of work. The answer to your question is no. For example, when the Republican Party in Florida found someone with the same name as a Democrat candidate for office and got that person’s name put on the ballot as a third candidate, it wasn’t traitorous to say that the election was stolen. Trump’s situation is different, as you know. It strikes me that you fit right into the category of the people who are jeopardizing our democracy.

I just saw the kind of elementary looking graph and no source on it. Was more curious than anything

Here's Trump condemning the riots and conceding the election:

"But 715, he spent every two seconds before and after that claiming the election was stolen."

So did Gore, Clinton, and Abrams.

Democrats have not accepted Presidential election results that didn't go their way in my lifetime apart from the Bush-Kerry election.

Was it on the level of Trump on January 6th? No. But when people like Joe Biden say "people who don't accept the election results are a threat to democracy," is he only talking about the violent actors and the people who basically wanted Pence to basically count only the votes that Trump wanted... or is Biden basically talking about anyone who won't let the 2020 election go... the people who are SAYING the 2020 election was stolen. If it's only the former, you're only talking about a really small group of people.

With respect to the latter, I don't believe the 2020 election was stolen, but spare me the sanctimony about respecting election results by agreeing that the election wasn't stolen. Democrats have done that in every single Presidential election that didn't go their way in my lifetime. As usual, the rule for Democrats is it's bad when Republicans do it, and it's fine when they do it. I think it's bad when everybody does it.

Because exactly what group of people we're talking about is kind of important when the President of the United States declares a group a "threat to democracy."

In such a case, category errors are kind of a big deal. Don't want to lump in all Republicans apart from Liz Cheney, Ana Navarro, and the grifters over at the Lincoln Project in there now do we?

Frankly, if we're going to lump in people who just believe that Joe Biden didn't really win the election, but will go on about their day quietly, then we should also look at a lot of Democrats who believe Trump "stole" the 2016 election or Bush "stole" the 2000 election.

But if Biden's not talking about those people, and he's only talking about the January 6th folks, and the people who were trying to pull shenanigans in using the power of the Trump Administration to basically try to unilaterally decide the election... that's a really small group of people. Very easy to condemn them, but when Joe Biden starts talking about gay marriage, abortion, and mere questioning of the 2016 election results... he loses a lot more Republicans than just the group of people you seem to claim he was talking about.

And you strike me as a person who wants to silence your opposition, both broaden and narrow the definition of "threat to democracy" so that it encompasses all of your political opponents, but absolves all of your political allies, then use that as an excuse to treat all of your political opponents like garbage.

I may be stubborn sometimes and a bit abrasive on this board. I have absolutely no respect for you.

My point is if you draw the line at the people who stormed the Capitol on January 6th and Republicans who basically wanted Pence to unilaterally decide the election... then you're talking about a pretty small group of Republicans.

Even people who think the election was "stolen," the vast majority don't support what happened on January 6th, or Pence unilaterally deciding the election.

The problem with Joe Biden's speech is that he didn't just bring that up. He seemed to bring up both people who JUST do not think that Biden really won the 2020 election but go on about their days quietly (where you can find a lot of Gore and Clinton supporters which are comparable on the other side), and people who just happen to be pro-life and believe in traditional marriage.

Total nonsense. You're just normalizing Trump/MAGA's antidemocratic behavior. That's sad. Nothing compares to what they are doing.

If you notice, it's always a threat to 'our' democracy...they don't give 2 shits about yours.
