Uh, yea. No QB had to carry the team on his back like Kyle did. He had to throw on almost every down when the opposing defense knew he was going to throw and he had the most productive season as a passer in UF history. He shredded a Georgia defense that was key to their national championship a year later.

I didn’t mean to diminish your point in my opinion it was solid. If you look at Mississippi State since 1980 they’ve had 22 losing seasons (2 by Mullen), we’ve only had 3… of course we all remember them… your point is valid, Mullen is a solid coach, but the expectations at UF clearly are different than at a program like Mississippi State.
That’s not an insult to Mississippi State. It just a different mindset.

Under the hated for good reason Dan Mullen. Dude has some skills whatever lacking but Trask isn’t Tebow and he made a round block slide in a square hole like butter.

Really wish hopper would have stayed. Did he give a reason for leaving other than the regime change?

It was my understanding that his cousin or brother or something played for Bateman at UNC and didn’t like him or something.

I guess it depends on what your expectations are for this year. Napier has tried to temper expectations multiple times and he tries to build the proper foundation and culture. And based off the depth chart he pushing playing time for young guys that he recruited.. hopper obviously didn’t even want to be part of what Napier was building so even if he stayed he probably wouldn’t have worked out anyways.

Tebow had more offensive talent around him than almost any UF team in history and had a much bigger playbook to work with. Trask threw for all that yardage and all those TDs against defenses that knew he was going to throw on almost every down.

I really hope Billy is taking that Saban approach where you take recruits that hurt your rivals' classes and leave them scrambling on signing day lol.
