If a Republican gave this exact speech with this exact lighting and setting and just substituted "liberal democrats" for "MAGA Republicans" you would all be screaming about how he was about to put everyone that didn't vote for him in a concentration camp. This was an objectively bad speech. It was a bad idea and an unforced error.
I’m not sure why he gave it with Dem polling much better the past 2 months. The party just won a house election in Alaska for the first time since Nixon. Seems somewhat purposeless at this point.
He sure didn't unite the US. Pushed some further away. As of now if it's Trump versus biden or Harris I will be voting 3rd party for the 3rd Presidential election in a row. The crap candidates on both side since 2016 has been abysmal.
I think its more like that Republicans give this speech so often while campaigning its treated as unremarkable.
"Don't call us fascists!" In Dallas, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Got a Standing Ovation From the Trump Faithful
Again righties are just bad at apt comparisons, trying to equate organic protests with roots stemming since our country’s founding, with Jan 6 on behalf of a complete fabrication, in an attempt to illegally overturn a fair and valid election, threatening our system of government.
perhaps it gives confidence and/or voice to those who were too timid to call out MAGA for what it is. Sometimes all it takes is for one to stand up to the bully before others gain confidence to do the same
I'll wait for pictures of the last time a Republican president gave a political speech lit like an SS rally with soldiers standing behind him. Or any president for that matter.
This literally looks just like a Nazi rally and I'd say that no matter who was president. Whoever thought this was a good idea for a setting needs to be fired. To elaborate further, any President should be lit in bright cool hues and should be presenting a message of hope for the future and extending a figurative hand to Americans who disagree with him. Whether he is sincere or not, this is how you want to present yourself politically. It's a baseline template. This is one of the reasons I am not a fan of Trump because he's an ass for no reason on the stump. This was worse than that because here Biden is tagging "MAGA Republicans" and let's face it, what he really means is anyone that voted for Trump, as enemies of the country. This was a bad idea just like it was a bad idea when Trump called the press the enemies of the people.

Tell me how many people is President Biden referencing? 73.6 Million people voted for former President in 2020. Is it 73 million now or much less? Fact is no one can answer that question which is why people are upset (basket of deplorables if you will). As for Charlottesville we can all agree neo-nazi's are not in vogue nor should they be. That however does not implicate everyone who attended the rally as being bad regardless of what they believe. This was the beginning of laissez-faire on the state and local level which quickly advanced to the federal level.
Did he say anything that was Hitleresque, or you just think the lighting makes it disgusting and just like Hitler?
Define "MAGA Republican" and how it is actually effectively any worse than just a Republican that voted for Trump.
