And if you lose the fight at the ballot box, be a sore loser and a cry that the fight was rigged. Which is exactly what they've been doing.

Diversity of thought? Schools can't even accept dictionary donations because of the MAGA groups

Don’t think I’ll ever have to get back to you then. When I was in the work force I lost jobs due to military preference and to a candidate with more education (PhD). I did not then go on a big mad against the military or higher education. I coped and kept on keeping on.

Trumps schtick is basically telling his base exactly what they want to hear. A “skill” con-men throughout history have used to operate, commonly known as the snake-oil salesman. Telling people what they want to hear isn’t actually “leadership”, it’s a psychological appeal to base emotions. It’s evolved to be practically a cult type relationship between Trump and his remaining devoted followers, who are now expected to abandon truth to stay on message.

Leadership is doing the unpopular thing because it’s right, moral, and backed up with good information. Liz Cheney, for example.

But you left out the part where he interrupted his speech to tell them they were allowed to keep swearing at him during his speech because this is a democracy and we are a free people.

Maybe a thread where you’re advocating choosing party over country isn’t the best place to accuse others of not being nationalistic enough.

I don't want to pick party over country but I don't have a country anymore. Last night confirmed that. I am stateless so party is what I have (true Conservatism, not controlled opposition aka the Republican party).

You don’t have a country because Biden gave a speech, which you didn’t watch and don’t know what he said?

I think the hiring process is hard to make 100% subjective. You can’t just hire the most qualified person on paper. Things you have to consider are personality, ability to work with others, temperament, communication skills, organizational skills, and attitude. Even if someone walks in with a degree from Harvard and more years of experience, they still might not be the best person for the job. I agree that there are times when a lesser candidate is chosen for the wrong reasons, but I think that affects people of all races and genders, and perhaps minorities worst of all.

Wow, what a thread. After reading everything it’s apparent the President struck a highly sensitive MAGA nerve by being honest with the American people.

I believe what we’re seeing with the OP is the second stage of the five stages of grief, anger. The first stage was denial. “Biden didn’t win the election” “Trump was cheated” etc. They know they’re losing and can’t find a way to stop it so they lash out like we see in some of the posts in this thread. The next stage is bargaining. Who knows how that will work out. My guess the MAGA’s will moderate their rhetoric so they can stay in power, and we can see some of that with some of the Republican candidates scrubbing their websites to appear more moderate.

I disagree with the OP that President Biden’s incredible speech last night was divisive unless they mean he divided republicans and democrats against the MAGAs.

I believe that we need to choose intellect over ignorance. Sadly, in America today, that gap is ever wider than the one between parties. We are living in a time where not only are people proud of being ignorant, they brag about on social digital platform for all of the world to see. Sadly, ignorance transcends party, race, country of origin, religion, and on and on.

Playing the victim isn’t an attractive position. POC and women have been victimized and have been declined jobs because of their race and gender for generations. You can’t be upset that the playing field is now level.

I don't deny that but it isn't level. Your side has just changed who it's okay to discriminate against. White people now have to be significantly better or they won't get the job.

Thank you all for confirming that you don't care about discrimination and racism as long as its against a white person, especially a straight white male. Thank you for confirming the war against white people.
