Duke volleyball player takes racist abuse at BYU- can’t be confirmed

First, we aren't talking about a player yelling the slur. Second, sure, until somebody is identified, it is possible that it was something misheard. But you also have to then take the position that there wasn't this sort of abuse raining down on the player and that she randomly ended up being the one that was approached by a fan and told to watch her back after the match. I have trouble believing that nothing happened but that this just randomly happened to her after the match.

If I heard someone yelling a racist word at someone I would say something. It's called doing the right thing. Not everything has to be about benefiting oneself.

What if you were like 80% sure you heard someone yelling a racial word in amongst a crowd screaming a variety of things? Or were 100% sure that you heard the word but were only like 80% sure you know who said it because you weren't just watching that person but rather the match when you heard it?

You show me a story of DeSantis chasing down a jogger because he's black with a shotgun and it will be the last time you hear me support him. See, i don't play politics above all else like you do. That's the difference.

 

I would say to the crowd "If anyone is saying anything racist stop it now or we will have a serious issue". Not hard. Then encourage others to speak up. You make it sound like there are no good people in the world anymore. I believe differently.

Yeah, I am just picturing you trying to get thousands of students who came to watch the volleyball match and who are yelling to listen to you as the match is going on to tell them to stop being so racist as if everybody would suddenly quietly sit there and listen to you based upon what might be happening.

Also, I highly doubt you would be the person to do this, given that we had a story posted here of a person being racist and your objection was primarily about why people were pointing it out and to defend your in-group and stating that you didn't see a point in calling them out. But sure, you would be the first to step out on a member of an in-group doing something wrong in this instance of racism, but not that one.
