Again, polls are full of crap. I mean IF you believe that garbage than around 40% of independents also think the election was stolen. No one with half a brain believes that garbage. Anytime a poll shows something so outlandish one would think there is something wrong with the poll. Most Republicans still falsely believe Trump’s stolen election claims. Here are some reasons why. - Poynter
So again, I don’t know those people. You guys keep believing whatever poll is posted. You really think 40% of independents think the election was stolen? Let’s use common sense.
as I said, it’s multiple polls. They likely aren’t all off substantially. There’s a reason Republican politicians have picked up the mantle for it all over the country. It’s clearly what a good chunk of the base wants to hear. My guess is that the percentages are high among blue collar and hard core true MAGA supporters than college grads and transactional voters. You probably more align with the second, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.
No, but politicians would not be saying it if it didn’t benefit them politically I.e. get them votes from people that think similarly. They’ve made the calculation that it will gain them far more votes than it will cost them.
those same optics applied to Hillary, and look how that turned out Kamala is not POTUS material by an stretch and it has nothing to do with her race or gender
I agree, but what do you think the reaction is going to be among AAs and women, basically the solid majority of the party now, if she is pushed aside? The politics of it for the Dems would be awful.
No, you are eliminating the "Don't know" option to put your thumb on the scale. Look at the Quinnipiac Poll from your link, for example. 66% of Republicans said the election was not legitimate, 25% said it was, and 9% said "Don't Know." If you look at Independents, 28% said not legitimate while 10% said "Don't Know." It is perfectly reasonable to suggest that 28% or so of Independents were followers of Trump (probably 10% more, to be honest).
Come on, 28% of independents? Yiy honestly believe that? I mean how many independents do you know that think that? I know zero, let alone Republicans who think the election was stolen personally. It doesn’t pass the smell test. I’d love to see all these independents who think trump won. Sorry, I don’t buy it at all.
if you think Trump isn't the product of outside global interests and that he won the election you are disconnected from reality as the rest of MAGA seems to be. You are following a con man and being willfully led astray in spite of all the evidence and facts
Your message sounds good but you still need a leader to represent us with true conservative values. Trump ain’t our guy.
Several, in fact. It is pretty common amongst the lower education, "I hate all politicians but especially Democrats" form of "independents."
You'd be surprised at what could be done when power changes hands. If Trump loyalists take over the house and senate and then the executive and legislative branches of the states that were swing states (i.e. get their people in as Secretaries of State and Attorneys General, the 2020 outcome could be reviewed as a criminal matter and act of treason. This is why the democrats have NO CHOICE NO CHOICE but to indict Trump on various charges in various jurisdictions. They risk the erasure of their party as a legitimate party in this country if the Trump Party (because it is no longer the GOP party) gets its claws into key positions.
So just to be clear you believe 28% of independents and think 66% of republicans think the election was stolen from trump. Just want to make sure we are on the same page.
Ballpark? Somewhere around there is pretty consistent in the polling data. You just are rejecting data that tells you what you don't want to hear with no real basis.
I do reject the data. Polling people who have no reason to tell the truth and god knows who actually answered the polling questions. Yiy can continue to think it’s true, I’ll live in the real world where no one j know has talked about the election since Jan of 21.
Sure, a bunch of people are all falsely replying to polls almost entirely in one direction, for what purpose exactly? Seems reasonable... I'll believe the data is a description of the real "real world" while you are utilizing nothing to support your "real world."
It’s fairly easy to see who isn’t. A “grown ass person” would provide the board with evidence the election was fraudulent, and would explicitly and publicly admit that the utterances, writings and behavior of Donald Trump reflect a sane person and have been appropriate. I would also like to know specifically who “the media” is and examples of “the media” being dishonest and/or unethical. Unless your post is pure crap, you should have no problem providing evidence that it isn’t. (I suspect I’ll have a long wait for such evidence.)
It happens a lot around here, people don’t see something in their circle so they believe it is overrated or doesn’t exist. The more fundamental truth is that we tend to align with people who are similarly oriented to us in their views. It’s why we are compatible with them. And geographical locations also align closely in a lot of cases too. As I said, you probably aren’t in the demo most likely to believe it. Here are five other polls that say roughly the same thing. Even if they are off by five or ten points, the numbers are scary. PolitiFact - Most Republicans still falsely believe Trump’s stolen election claims And again, if it wasn’t supported by the base it would have been dropped long ago. Instead it has become the cry of almost everyone running from the far right it seems. They says it because they know it resonates with the base.
Right, because when I was a teenager and they had those polls in the mall, we would stop and say the most outlandish stuff possible, so yeah, I’m sure that won’t ever happen again…
Again, I can’t believe any poll that says 28% of independents think the election was stolen. Anyone believing that nonsense sounds very gullible to me.
