I assume there are ways to tell, but it is a valid question.

1 year anniversary to when the Biden administration actually sued red states for allowing their students the option of going to school without a mask. Remember this in Nov.

Long term health consequences of COVID infections just starting to become understood. Interesting article, however, suggesting this is not like the flu and that there is long-term systemic stress from the infection.

Also points out later in the article in an indirect way that we need a renewed understanding of how personal health impacts outcomes. It never says this in the article, but it could easily be inferred that as a matter of policy, this pandemic may lead to greater emphasis on encouraging healthier living as a first line of defense against chronic and infectious diseases.

Curious as to why you think this? If the vast majority of your protection is from longer term B-cell and more importantly T-cell production, why would we stop using the original version of the vaccine?

I didnt say stop using it. I said stop PUSHING it. Its effectiveness is drastically less. Most of us have natural immunity at this point or soon will.it did what was really needed which was bridge us to this point. We now need NEW, effective and current options.

Who is still pushing it? The only thing I've heard from the White House in 2022 is that we should invest in developing more vaccines. They haven't been pushing the original vaccine since 2021.

My state still floods the radio with commercials to this day. Listening to the local ESPN affiliate they still have the same NCDOH commercial playing from 18 months ago. "Find your spot. Get your shot." That means tax money here is still paying for the ad space

Because serology suggests just about everyone has had the virus at this point. Especially combined with those who took the shot(s).

There commercials daily for it. Boosters. Kids. Recommended for everyone.

    And the CDC…

    COVID-19 Vaccination

This disease is not an emergency for kids. It no way it should be EUA for kids.

And heaven forbid we have human trials before the new bivalent one they are about to start pushing. Animal tries will work. These idiots need to be fired yesterday.

Hell, DC isn’t letting kids in school if they don’t have the vaccine. What are your thoughts on that?

    Oh stop that crap man.

I am pro vaccine. Got my shots took my 17 uear old at the time for hers, encouraged my parents who were in their late 60s and early 70s respectively to get thiers.

BUT... They arent doing much today.

They arent. They were not made for current strands.why dont you enlighten us how "vaccines work" while explaining that doctors themselves tell you the flu vax is a crapshoot every season.

The vaccine worked. It severely hampered the spread and severity of Covid. THOSE vaccines, mich like the flu vaccines arent effective on every strand.

What am I making up? You think that the shot designed for the ancestral strain should be taken by myself who has had covid finally. Presumably one of the subvariants of omicron. You think a Djokovic should take one of these shots who has had covid twice? Once presumably omicron.

What should a healthy person need to take one of these shots today. So you disagree with the decisions some made back in 2021. Who are you to say they are wrong. Shoot...with the new study out it appears young men were right to not take Moderna. I was 40 when these shots became available. I was 41 in September of 2021 when I met with my doctor to get his opinion at a check up. By that time he said he only had confidence in Moderna and would recommend taking it. I had too many red flags for me and glad I decided not to. Based on the recent study I am sure he is glad I decided not to as well.

You do not believe most people have T-Cell/B-Cell protection whether it be from past infection or the shot(s)?

Go take as many boosters as you want. But your take on these shot(s) is off.

Hope the healthy men in your family that are younger avoid the Moderna shot for sure.

Again, you continue to demonstrate you do not understand what vaccines are meant for.

You seem to want a magic potion that keeps you from becoming permanently infected. HINT: It does not exist. Why? Because neutralizing anti-bodies do not naturally remain in high numbers in your system indefinitely. In the case of COVID vaccines, more than 3-6 months. Just like...FLU, except there seems to be season that is just about 4-5 months long where there is wide community spread of the flu. We see no seasonality yet in SARS-CoV-2.

Since the benefit from the vaccines, almost every vaccine created (COVID, Polio, MMR, etc...)is to provide tremendous protection against disease/severe disease, not infection, the ogirinal mRNA vaccines are still more than sufficient for the vast majority of our society. You probably do want to create vaccines the produce high neutralizing anti-bodies for the most vulnerable of our society, but without a seasonality to this pandemic (yet), we would then still be talking about boosting that group 2x per year.

Again, Americans are so scientifically illiterate it makes it easy for less-than-reputable people like that Makary to sell Americans on BS so they run out and buy his books.

    Sigh.

What are you talking about? The vaccine was a success. I have said so repeatedly.
What magic potion am I looking for?

You are totally bending my opinion of it to try and make a fight.

people who have not been vaccinated do not have the long term protection against severe disease from covid, hence the message to get vaccianted is still being emphasized in areas where vaccine hesitancy or denial was/is large

    Come on man.

Stop peddling these drugs and putting words to tilly that are disingenuous.

Here you try to talk about boosting a certain group (the elderly) which is probably where we end up. But continue to insinuate everyone needs to take the current archaic shot. Good grief we got these shot(s) out in 9 months and the new bivalent shot can’t even get a human study before it is about to be released.

It should infuriate you that we do have have these companies competing to create a shot geared for the most likely variants in the southern hemisphere for the summer fall here. No we are still trying to jab kids with a shot they do not need. Kids where there is no emergency. Kids where serology would say over 75% have the TCell/BCell protection already.

And you want to act like tilly does not understand what is going on with these shots? You are part of the problem with peddling bad science and medicine. And sadly you seem to know better.

    Sigh.
