You are proving your ignorance and your own prejudices. You are judging my ancestors without knowing a damn thing about any of them. You guys want to point fingers based on what you think you know. I'm not going to argue the issue just point out that like so many posters on the left you are making shit up. You have no clue if what you are saying is true or false. Typical.

When I read this my instant thought was he should stop implying it he should just state it outright. I have no idea if you are racist and I honestly don’t care. I just thought that would be funny.

If back in the day you told your parents and grandparents “Man, I wish I was black,” what would their reaction be? Both you and I know the answer, that scenario would not end well for you lol

You would have been shocked if you had walked into my dad's pffice back when he was still alive. he had several plaques from the naacp on his wall. His company had over 2700 black employees. He was treated with respect by the black community and often asked to speak at the local chapter.

It’s only racist if a court says it is. And even if it is, doesn’t take much to “remove” the racism.

A Jim Crow-era provision of the Mississippi constitution designed to disfranchise Black voters is constitutional, a federal appellate court ruled on Wednesday.

The case deals with a provision of the Mississippi constitution, Section 241, that lays out specific crimes that cause its citizens to permanently lose the right to vote. Mississippi officials initially adopted the provision at a constitutional convention in 1890, choosing crimes such as theft, arson, embezzlement and bigamy that they believed African Americans were more likely to commit. “We came here to exclude the Negro,” said the convention’s president. “Nothing short of this will answer.”
A majority of judges on the US court of appeals for the fifth circuit did not dispute that the original provision was racist and unconstitutional. But they said Mississippi had since “cleansed” the provision of its “discriminatory taint” by tweaking the provision twice in the 20th century. Voters removed burglary from the list of disfranchising crimes in 1950 and added murder and rape to the list in 1968.

Mississippi, the state that gave us Dobbs, once again shows its moral leadership. And the Fifth Circuit validates

Mississippi’s Jim Crow-era felony voting law is constitutional, federal court rules

I've also thought we've had a few parody accounts here.
Meanwhile, there have been periodic reports of racist parties at college frats - blackface, nooses, KKK outfits ... Besides offensive, it just seemed really stupid. Who gets pleasure out of that?
I also figured that something like that could only happen at a college frat.

But these are grownups, successful people who think that kind of stuff is funny? "Hey, I know, we'll get some Juneteenth flags, some buckets of fried chicken ... who can bring the watermelon? This will be so much fun!"

The same people that think boat parades with flags celebrating their orange god are a good time.

Perhaps. But I do think its odd to post anecdotes here. It seems pretty one sided. Perhaps just leave out party affiliation in these conversations. Its not like its hard to find cases on both sides.

Racism is a disease. Diseases generally dont choose a side to inject themselves into.

Should we do this every time?

You should try it sometime. It is a whole lot more fun than burning down the streets of Portland of Seattle.

    Except that never happened.

Out in the hinterlands, dummies really believe that whole cities burned down during summer of 2020. Probably because Fox was showing B Roll of riots in Ukraine and Belarus.

it just wouldn’t be a political thread here without false equivalency from Tilly.
By nature, a racist isn’t usually going to vote with a democratic party that has put minority issues and concerns front and center for decades. And on the flip side, someone who is not down with that and wants to stop it is voting Republican. Be it under the guise of fairness, overreach, reverse discrimination etc which the republican party happily gives a wink and a nod to to keep those votes that they desperately need. Even now it’s happening under the guise of voting rights. So almost by definition, more republicans are going to have “bad” views on race then Dems. Even if we can find anecdotal stories across all groups.
But I do agree that each person’s views should be looked at for their own, labeling is only an excuse to marginalize a viewpoint.
