The US embassy in Baghdad is NOT being evacuated. My kid was a contractor providing security at the embassy for Dept of State for a few years - a few years ago. It is the largest US embassy and a fortress and manned by a rather large contingent of Marines in addition to the contractors.
Pure speculation here but with unrest in the Green Zone helicopters might be used to safely transport personnel instead of vehicles.
