It’s true. I don’t like to shit on posters unless they get cocky and self righteous. I don’t get that vibe from the pubs.

 

I don't. But I try not to be. That's all you can do.

 

I get that food choices are used as a dog whistle or as a tool for ridicule but I never understood it. I love those dog whistles - fried chicken, collards, and watermelon are some of my favorites and are loved by many southerners. Always seemed stupid and far off the mark to me to use such awesomeness in an attempt to ridicule a race.

 

Yeah they seem more bothered by pointing out racism than the racism itself.

 

There you go running your mouth again, you don't know squat about my ancestors. I have federal censuses on all of them on my dad's side of the family all the way back to the early 1800s and most of my mom's and as far as can be determined none of them were ever slave owners.

So ... a couple was accused of holding a racist party, with the weird twist of a firefighter being required to attend while on duty. They not only denied, they took the unusual approach of holding a press conference to deny that they're racist or that they held a racist party. During the press conference, the woman admits that has a Twitter account that apparently pretty much anyone would call racist.
She said it's a parody account and not what she really thinks.

Yeah, a story like that will be talked about. It's made national news. It's kind of ridiculous that we've got grownups complaining that there is a thread about it on a message board.
And then both sides get into who's got black friends or some other silliness.

No. 1 - if you think a thread breaks the decorum, such as it is, of the board, report it to the mods. If you think it's a pointless discussion, don't post on it. But stop whining that people are talking about something that you don't want them talking. Geez.
No. 2 - Everybody please back off a notch when your accusing or implying other posters are racist. Again ... geez.

 

I left Chatter on my own when their political board became a pay only site. I just do not believe in paying to use an internet site. Never have and never will.

I thought about going back over there for football season to try to regain my Pickem title but that wouldn't be right. They gave me a nice 60" TV for winning the pickem contest 2 years ago.
