Hoping for a big win by Zeldin over Hochul:

NY Gov. Hochul Tells Republicans to 'Get out of Town' – RedState

She's a first-class witch for this plus giving the location of a Zeldin rally to her supporters when one of same showed up and tried to stab Lee Zeldin in the neck.

New Yorkers needn't stop with just republicans moving to the Free State of Florida. You democrats tired of the democratic socialist inept New York leadership come on down too. The only thing is leave your old, failed politics behind and register as republicans when you get here. Embrace Florida or stay home in your misery.

“And we are here to say that the era of Trump, and Zeldin and Molinaro, just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, ok? Get out of town. Get out of town. Because you do not represent our values. You are not New Yorkers,” Hochul said Monday.

Great way to insult millions of New Yorkers by telling them that they aren’t New Yorkers, just because they don’t share her radical political views. You’re right, Gov. Hochul, Republicans don’t share your hateful “values.” When you want to kick people out of the state who don’t agree with you, that’s sounding pretty dictatorial to me.

New Yorkers have been coming to Florida since the 1950s; my parents came then. Miami Beach used to be called the 6th Borough. And Florida’s population has grown from the 26th most pupulous state when I was in college to third. This movement trend has been around for a long time. So, your conclusions, like most of the other right wingers, are wrong. And there is nothing free about Florida. Just look at the “stop woke” law, which was cheered by you right wingers and, predicatably, declared to violate the First Amendment

Florida has never led the nation in inbound migration like it does today. Florida has never had more republicans than democrats until a year ago.

You are a dinosaur and getting more so every day. There is nothing wrong with the anti-woke law or the school laws putting parents back in charge of their children. Enjoy losing all future state elections and your minority status.

Voter Registration - By Party Affiliation - Division of Elections - Florida Department of State (myflorida.com)

230,915 more republicans than democratic socialists and growing by the day/month. The difference will likely be closing in on 300,000 by midterm election day.

The inbound migration is a good thing. Florida home values will be amongst the most stable in the nation when the housing bubble busts. Thanks California and New York.

The irony of this thread is that if DeSantis had said the same thing about Dems the OP would have cheered him on for being strong and owning the libs.

    Go team!!!!!

    I’m a woman Missy, I don’t have a prostate.
Now for your problem you might want to try the dating app called “Righter.” It’s a dating app for people who can’t find love because of their MAGA affiliation. Here’s an article.

And the second most popular state for people to move to Florida from is Georgia. So if we're willing to accept that people are coming here for "Freedom" (which is hilariously miopic) then that means those leaving Georgia would be turning Georgia more blue.

Zeldin has as much chance of being elected governor as the proverbial snowball in a certain very hot place.

I always find it kind of funny how obsessed so many Floridians are about New York and Cali. And Portland - can’t forget Portland.

The in-migration is also a significant factor in pricing long term Florida residents out of the housing market. If you already own a home or condo you're benefiting from the market. If one is in the market for a new home especially if not already a current homeowner or if one is a renter he or she is in deep excrement.

Probably right, but I think it will be a lot closer than the polls indicate at this time. Also, I don't trust voter repression polls during the election process.

What goes around, comes around, see higher interest rates.

It's time to dust off the old FHA 235 loans to help the young and lower income buyers to get into the housing market. There is an answer for everything. Hey, Dictator Biden can just executive order this back into law if the old lending laws have expired. He doesn't need the legislature for anything.

In the meantime, grow Florida grow and inbound transplants register republican when you get here.

The old FHA 235 program allowed first time buyers to purchase new homes with no money down, it didn't subsidize interest rates and by the way the program was discontinued by Congress in 1989 in response to the high default rate of buyers/borrowers under the program.

I always thought the 6th borough was Ft. Lauderdale. I still hear (and use) the term though.

I and my parents are Florida natives, but living in the Panhandle now, I have been told I carry a touch of New York accent.

As an aside, UF has among the lowest tuition costs in the country for this reason. All of these retirees pay taxes, but don't cut into the state's budget on its primary expense (education)
