I was about to post this, but it has been a busy week. It is frankly offensive. I have heard Dr. Strangelove was modeled on Kissinger’s world view when he was unknown, but it could have been Nazis we got out in the Ratlines. Or just a created character. As for Nixon, his foreign affairs were fairly progressive. He started the “warming” of the Cold War. Except for The Vietnam War, which was the overwhelming foreign policy/also domestic disaster of the time.

Golds Meir was a great leader. Kissinger held to this in the 1973 War when he told Nixon not to send anti-tank missiles (tows?) to Israel early on. It was Alexander Haig who stepped in. But I don’t want to get to far off topic

You didn’t answer my question about being the same poster/BOT who said Putin would not invade when these circumstances were occurring. Ray should be happy that his forums attract Russian propaganda bots.

    ha.
My calling you British was because queering things up is a very British phrase, I’ve never heard an American use it. But it was also in just in fun. And in part because I knew it would elicit a response like this one to help figure out who you are. I have an idea or two, but not there yet.

I've stood 5 or 6 feet away from the Queen at Hyde Park and the 5-time president of Iceland follows me on Twitter if you need some hints. Did you know Bobby Fischer died in Iceland? 64 squares on a chessboard and 64 when he died.
Now it's time for a proper breakfast. Bacon sandwich and a builder's tea.

When will Ukraine begin pushing Russia back from existing borders?

Borders or front lines? 20k poor kids abandoned by Russian commanders in Kherson

First step to defeat a defensive position is to degrade their supply and reinforcment capacity. That is what the long range missiles and behind lines sabotage is doing now. Advances will happen after logistics infrastructure degradation is complete

Russia 'abandons 20,000 troops' near Kherson as Ukraine counter-attacks | Daily Mail Online

Russia has abandoned 20,000 troops near Kherson in the face of a Ukrainian counter-attack, the regional governor has claimed.

Vitaly Kim said Russia is relocating command posts on the west bank of the Dnipro River to the east, leaving 'stupid orcs' - his term for Kremlin soldiers - behind.

Ukraine has already blown up all three bridges under Russian control connecting the two banks, meaning its soldiers on the west side have no easy way of resupplying, reinforcing, or retreating as Kyiv's men continue their advance.

Russians are running low on some of their high-precision missiles, according to Ukraine. They are down to 45% of the number of missiles they had before the war. They are down to the last 20% of their Iskander missiles, and are running low on Kalibr missiles. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to get more weapons and ammunition from the U.S. They even received some Mig-29's from Slovakia, after Poland and the Czech Republic promised to patrol their skies for them.

Maybe Russia will surrender before the end of the year. :)

No more than 45% missiles that Russia had before the war remain Chief Directorate of Intelligence

Sanctions on Russia are about to get a whole lot worse, starting in December with an oil embargo. Oil products will not be purchased from Russia starting in February. Hungary is the only country that seems to be wavering in their commitment to stopping Russia. There will at least be an effort to apply secondary sanctions to countries that do buy Russian oil.

Germany has been busy. The are opening a LNG terminal by the end of the year, and another one early next year. They will have six by the end of next year.

What will happen in December, and why does Putin fear it?

And Hungary is a simple matter of negotiation. If we make it in Hungary’s interest, they will do whatever. But we have not.

The sanctions must be working pretty well, because Putin is burning $10 million worth of natural gas a day.

Russia is burning $10 million a day of natural gas usually destined for Germany before Moscow choked off supply

As an aside, I saw a picture of the flare burning the $10 million a day of NG. It looked smaller than the flare my old plant had to use when it had to shut down a 600 psig NG pipeline. You could see it light up the night sky from 50 miles away.

Kinda off topic, but I got my piece of SU-34 skin after donating to Ukraine and I couldn't be happier. Going to go up on the wall for sure, especially as a defense worker.
