I asked my wife the question today, "why is every business we enter short on people?" Chipotle has 4-5 people doing the work for 10 and they are paying $15+. Every business is short employees. Now more than ever low wage earners need money to pay for gas, utilities and food. I shared an article today from Bloomberg that 20+ million people are behind on their electric bills. They aren't getting anymore assistance from the government.

This long Covid is a legit part of the problem. I know a guy who has had it for over a year and he can't do much. Then you have a 40% increase in non-covid deaths of 18-64 year old working people in the 3rd quarter of 2021 (according to a life insurance CEO in Indiana). I'm sure you'll find articles that will push back like Politico. Then you add that people can make money with Uber, shopping for others or picking up gigs. These are people enjoying making the same amount of money with flexibility. I am sure there are more reasons, but we are short workers here in FL.

We have been traveling across Italy and Switzerland the last couple of weeks. Masks are required on the trains, not on the busses or in the exhibits/museums. Yes on ferries and on water busses in Venice, no in cabs or on airplanes. When masks are required, only kn95 are acceptable. No vaccine requirements. The inconsistent application is crazy.

The minimum wage being a joke needs to be addressed.

I have a friend who was a triathlete and now can't walk too fast or he gets winded. Fortunately his job lets him sit, so he can still work, but the rest of his life has kind of fallen apart. If he was working in a field that wasn't conducive to sitting at work, he would be out of work right now.

It would be interesting to see long Covid numbers, beyond a long period, such as 6 months. Many of these stats will include people between 60 days and 12 weeks. Also would be interesting to see how they compare to a “control” group - what percent of people get these symptoms that don’t get sick.

I have no doubt this is real but really don’t know how widespread it is.

    Nice job twisting words.

"Long COVID" is not the same as "Long COVID infection".

You should have read the actual study where the NIH did confirm Long COVID.

    SMH.

Sure LOL. Anyone who was for
School closures, vaxxing healthy kids and masking at this point should just be laughed at.

Yes its real and more widespread than most realize. Vaccine deniers also refuse to acknowledge the big difference in levels of long covid in vaccinated vs unvaxxed

BNT162b2 Vaccination and Long COVID After Infections Not Requiring Hospitalization in Health Care Workers.

The number of vaccine doses was associated with lower long COVID prevalence: 41.8% (95% CI, 37.0%-46.7%) in unvaccinated patients, 30.0% (95% CI, 6.7%-65.2%) with 1 dose, 17.4% (95% CI, 7.8%-31.4%) with 2 doses, and 16.0% (95% CI, 11.8%-21.0%) with 3 doses

Uber income is robbing peter to pay paul as the vehicle depreciation, if planned for, cuts the real income down quite a bit. Add in extra taxes, health insurance, and no PTO and uber income becomes substantially less

it wasn't a joke 5 years ago when the competition for the low wage earner made that low wage earner much more than minimum wage. You raise minimum wage and you take money from the servers at restaurants. You raise minimum wage and 1st time workers lose their jobs at fast food restaurant to kiosks. Raising minimum wage solves some problems but it also creates a lot of problems.

Prasad is one of the best out there when it comes to this. He knows garbage studies and good studies. He knows limitations on even good studies.

This deserves its own thread imo. Very important information.

For those that want to watch Prasad discuss this particular finding…

How do we know he knows this from that? There are literally thousands of professionals that likely disagree with him.

Even if true though, why does it matter?
Its like saying seatbelts cause more hip injuries than not wearing one.

Seatbelts weren't designed to prevent hip injuries. They are designed to improve your percentages of survival in a wreck.

Myocarditis is often not fatal and can go away, much like that hip injury.

I think the vax is a huge part of why we are in the bright dawn from the pandemic night.

It's probably pretty useless now, but it wasnt when this thing was killing thousands daily.

    Why does it matter?

Our idiot public health officials are still peddling this shot. To young kids no less. They are about to start pushing the animal only tested bivalent shot and require those who have decided not to take the shot(s) to do so in order to take the new one that actually addresses a subvariant of omicron. We should end giving Moderna immediately. One. It is pointless now as you pointed out. Two there is not an emergency in men under 40. And the vast vast majority of the elderly have taken the shot(s).

For the sake of trust in medicine it matters!

I’d also have to question that now that the virus is so contagious and nearly the worlds population has had it at least once if not more, how do we differentiate wether it’s the vaccine or the virus. A certain segment of people are so quick to blame every negative outcome on the vaccine while completely ignoring the possibility that the actual virus could be causing these long term health issues and “mysterious deaths”.

I can agree with all of that. I just feel like much of the pushback to the vaccine seems to be about the past, where it seems obvious it did great work.

As for now. Its time to stop. Its a money grab to keep pushing the old shot.

Side note, Anyone else think its a bad look for Moderna to be suing Phizer?
