Crappy anecdotal evidence here, but everyone I see in Central Florida picketing an abortion clinic is well beyond any childbearing age.

No,I don’t. I think it’s a woman and her medical provider’s choice. I think viability is where the fetuses interest becomes real. Do you know how many third trimester abortions happen? Most of them are medically necessary. I don’t think anyone but the woman and her doctor are in any position to make that call.

But you do think a healthy mother should be "forced" to have a healthy baby in the 3rd trimester, correct?

One would think that a healthy woman carrying a healthy fetus in the third trimester has plans on giving birth to the fetus anyway. Of course the majority of the brain development happens after the 24th week, so a 3rd trimester fetus that has no brain development would be a new development that neither the doctor, nor the woman would know. But you did say the word “healthy” didn’t you?

So you're comparing your position of forcing a woman with a clump of cells in her body to have a baby 8 months later to forcing a woman with a viable fetus to have a baby 2 months later? That's really something, even for you.

I think it’s her and her medical providers decision. I am a libertarian. I don’t think it’s my place to say.

My compromise position is allow reasonable restrictions in the second trimester, first trimester no restrictions. 3rd trimester only for real medical reasons. It’s almost like the Roe decision was great legislation.

I don’t think this is tilly’s position. I think tilly’s position is used by the anti women fanatics to enslave women to their will. What was the two word phrase that Stalin used for communist sympathizers?

I'm asking. The forced birth mantra is arbitrary. Do you think a healthy woman should be forced to give birth to a healthy human at 7 months?

But as usual. Extremists want to controll the narrative. Even when it is silly.

"Forced birth" is something we ALL believe in at some level. You just want to decide when the term applies and when it doesn't.
Many of us will call out the hypocrisy of that.

The "even for you" comment was classy btw.

I get your position. I even respect it and its origin. I am just saying that in some capacity you support "forced birth".

Even your reasonable restrictions will force someone to have a child they may not want.

    Appreciate the good discourse fwiw.

The 'even for you' comment was directed at your tendency for false equivalency, and this is one of your more ridiculous examples of it. Yes, I think a healthy woman should be forced to give birth to a healthy human at 7 months. There is a very big difference between 2 months pregnancy and 7 months pregnancy. It's called 'viability'. It's not arbitrary. A woman should be allowed to choose up to a certain point before the fetus is viable. After that it's too late. We as a society are pretty much in agreement on this. A majority of us favor allowing a woman to choose at 2 or 3 months pregnant, but not at 7 or 8 months.

It's odd that by trying to argue against my point that you proved it by saying exactly what i proposed

You can call it a false equivalence if you wish. Fact is everyone supports "forced" birth at some level which is exactly what (and all) I said

Yeah, everyone supports forced birth of viable healthy fetuses. Boy you really got us on that one. That's like me saying you support abortion because you think it should be allowed in some instances.

It would be true. I do support it in certain circumstances.

It's why I dont run around calling it murder.
That would make me a hypocrite on the subject.

However saying one doesnt believe in forced births when one does indeed believe in them IS hypocritical.

You dont get special points for having a line thats further in your direction than my line.

This is a really weak argument you are clinging to. Equating to the forced birth of a viable fetus to a forced birth of an unviable early term fetus that has no feeling no consciousness and is the size of a grape - of which a abortion by medication is essentially the same as approximately 1 million miscarriages a year.

You are saying that extracting and killing a late term viable fetus is the same as a zygote. But perhaps that’s the way Christian Taliban roll.

I didnt say it was the same. You're putting words in my mouth because you cant own the fact that you also support forced birth at some level.

But keep stooping to being offensive and bigoted with your insane terminology.

Your argument is really lame. You are no different than the pro choicers who think sucking out a 8 month baby and killing it is just as ok as aborting a zygote.

You used this ridiculous argument to deflect that you support forced birth of zygotes and tiny fetuses that have no feeling and no cognition whatsoever. You think you should have a say in how my family and health care providers make decisions on such reproductive issues. Why do you think that? Because you think your god wants you to force your *beliefs* on to me and I have to live with the consequences. You think that fetuses that have no cognition or feeling somehow have a “soul”, and YOU have to “protect” them.

Only people like the Taliban think that way. May as well go sacrifice a goat, it’s almost as bad (but not quite)
