No. They think they are extinguishing the infidels.

You dont save a soul by brutally killing its vessel.

The comparison is terrible, lazy and offensive.

I'm content to be argumentative and stifle conversation, especially from those with no clue. So many loudmouths with ZERO LIFE EXPERIENCE. Those whose family members/spouses have not suffered through an abortion or D&C should really shut the !#$!@#!@ up. They have zero moral or ethical ground to stand on. I'm talking to you, Tilly. The Gov should have exactly ZERO say. What a filthy, disgusting travesty certain people have made of this issue. Just stay out of it, you ignorant a$$holes (I'm not referring to you, jj). I'll try to cool off now and stay out of this, but I sure wish the "pro-lifers" (what a friggin joke) could do the same. Just shut up.

You dont put your beliefs ahead of others? Do you vote for the opposing side then?

Like seriously, we all put our beliefs ahead of someones every time we vote.

So if my religion says your wife should wear a burka you are down with that? How is that different than you insisting my bipolar daughter on heavy meds and very compromised judgement should bring a pregnancy to term because you think that’s what God wants. I’m sorry you find it offensive. But this is just a convenient belief for you. It is real life for me, and it is literally one of the biggest stresses in my life.

I wish I remembered where I heard it this week, which podcast. But the person discussing was basically saying it isn’t at all uncommon for people that are most likely “pro-life” to end up in abortion clinics. Most of these people believe abortion should be illegal, with 3 exceptions:

    - Rape
    - Incest
    - Their personal situation.

Who said I think your bipolar daughter should do anything? I would feel that her health is jeopardized. That is an exception correct? I think their is room for a common sense sympathetic approach while still protecting the millions that are victims of oops convenience every year.

And what did that response have to do with my question? Don't you vote for things that put your beliefs ahead of someone elses? That was the question. Who doesnt do that?

Well if someone who you can't remember said it in a podcast it must be true.

There is almost no chance that mental health would fall under danger to the mother exceptions. They have to be very narrowly interpreted, since remaining pregnant is pretty much always a higher death rate than not remaining pregnant. Basically, unless you interpret them very narrowly, it invalidates the entire law.

The Women Who Leave Anti-Abortion Picket Lines to Get Abortions

a woman who described herself as an anti-abortion activist showed up in the waiting room of Dr. Marissa Lapedis, a family-medicine doctor who performs the procedure in Atlanta.

But she wasn’t there to protest—she had an appointment.

“She talked about being in marches, and said she had spent a lot of time volunteering in crisis pregnancy centers—you know, showing patients the ultrasound image and explaining what happens,” Lapedis, a fellow with the group Physicians for Reproductive Health, told The Daily Beast. “She said she had been anti-abortion her whole life, and that her whole family was like her—and yet she was so appreciative of the care she received from us. She literally was like, ‘I’m so grateful that I’m able to make this choice for myself.’”

“All of us who do abortions see patients quite regularly who tell us, ‘I’m not pro-choice, but I just can’t continue this pregnancy,’” said Dr. Sarah Prager, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Washington. “We’ve even seen people coming into the clinic off the protester lines to get their abortion, then return to protesting outside the clinic.” And to be clear, she added, “These are not people who turn anti-choice after having an abortion, but who simply access this essential service when they need it in spite of their personal beliefs about abortion in general.”

It is one thing to vote for how money is taxed and spent. It is quite another to vote for legislation that forces women to lose rights and bring abortions to term.

As to my daughter I doubt she would qualify for the very narrow exceptions that are carved out in these laws. And it isn’t just about her. There are a lot of young women with some degree of mental health issues or perhaps drug addiction issues and they make poor decisions.

The “oops” characterization is really irritating. A vast majority of abortions are low income women, and first your political buddies oppose any programs to expand birth control, then oppose their ability to get abortions.

Colorado abortion rates keep declining. Free IUDs and easier access to the pill are the reason.

Health officials say Colorado has made huge progress in access to birth control in recent years

But Republicans tried to scrap it.

Florida is very much a pro-choice state. It's going to be fun watching Rubio and DeSantis run away from their pro-life positions. Demmings is going to slam Rubio on abortion and I think she has a real chance of beating him. DeSantis is proposing all sorts of specific legislation for next year to own libs and woke corporations, but says it's too early to propose any legislation that further restricts abortion in Florida. I doubt Crist wins, but abortion makes that race a lot closer than it would have been.

Laying down a lot of facts and truths that are onlyl countered with emotions and religion. Thank you. After touring the Vatican yesterday and taking a guided tour that focused on the papal history, it is more apparent than ever that the catholic church is a giant corrupt organization headed by ruthless people interested in power and wealth. The amount of poor and homeless in Italy stands in stark contrast to the concentration of wealth in the church. I will say that the current pope seems to be an exception but even his ability to enact meaningful reform is offsetl by the entrenched beauracracy in the organization

I phrased that poorly. You are putting your beliefs over all woman’s bodily autonomy.

Being raised catholic, the hypocrisy here was amazing. All were staunchly anti abortion unless it was their son or daughter in trouble.

    So do you.
Or are you ok with partial birth abortion?

Again. We all want to "force" birth as some call it.

We just all have a different timeline we can live with.
