    an excerpt:

U.S. District Judge Dabney L. Friedrich condemned Reffitt’s conduct in handing down an 87-month sentence, saying in a nearly six-hour hearing that his views espousing political violence were “absurd,” “delusional” and “way outside of the mainstream.”

What Reffitt and others did at the Capitol “is the antithesis of patriotism,” Friedrich said, adding: “Not only are they not patriots, they are a direct threat to our democracy, and will be punished as such.”

Interestingly Judge Friedrich was a Trump appointee.

But I was told that the patriots were unarmed and so there was no real threat to the lawmakers or the constitution?

Assuming he ever pays at all, most likely the MAGA rubes are the unwitting source of funds rather than Trumps personal assets.

You learn something new everyday. MJT says Ashli Babbit was actually trying to stop people at the Capitol.

Text from tweet "Marjorie Taylor Greene claims Ashli Babbitt, who entered the Capitol on January 6th and made it all the way to the Speaker’s lobby, was “trying to stop [the Capitol rioters] from going in.” The tweet also includes a video clip.

I read on twitter that they only go up to 2020. If true, won't be much help the the noble J6 committee.

Depends on when in 2020. If they have December 31, 2020, that might be helpful. But yeah, if it is earlier, it won't be a direct help (although it could help uncover unknown networks within the organizers).

What a total nut. How can she be a 99% chance of winning reelection according to fivethirtyeight?

interesting article; how radicalized he was. Trump was definitely successfully targeting this group.

“Robertson was released after his arrest in January 2021 but was jailed months later after going on what Cooper described as a “remarkable shopping spree for high-powered assault weapons” while becoming “further radicalized.” Robertson could be charged with illegal firearm possession, the judge noted.”

wow, thread was all the way back on p8. Interesting times we live in.

This is the guy. ex-cop blames the Capitol Police officer for making him gouge his eyes. Real piece of work.

'Eye-Gouger' Ex-Cop Who Used to Be on Mike Bloomberg’s Security Detail Intends to Argue He Beat Up Officer on Jan. 6 in Self-Defense

Thomas Webster, a former Marine and 20-year veteran of the New York Police Department, gained notoriety as the Jan. 6 “eye gouger” after being seen appearing to dig his thumbs into the eyes of a D.C. police officer during the chaos outside the Capitol building.

A former New York cop accused of assaulting a Washington, D.C. cop outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 plans to assert a self-defense claim, and says that he was merely responding to the “excessive force” used by the officer he ultimately tackled to the ground.
