Oh, they don't. They'll pick and choose when it applies. You have to remember the one proposition of conservatism.

And if he doesn't want to be fined, he shouldn't violate federal law. He's been doing this for 25 years.

It's kind of sad when you're both wrong and unable to stick to the topic of your own thread in the same post. It's like a double whiff.

Gonna make an omelet you gotta Crack a few eggs....

Seriously though, I don't wish Ill will on anyone over politics but if someone had to fall victim to bad practices like this I know I wouldn't want it to happen to people that actually show regard for every life. Make your own inferences.

It's not even political. It's a human decency issue. Good lord.

I don't see this as a "left vs right" or "liberal vs conservative" issue. It is a food safety issue. The public has an expectation when they buy food that it is produced safely. That is the job of the USDA and/or the FDA to see that food produced for public consumption is safe.

It shouldn’t be, but it’s being presented and twisted that way.

Personally, I don’t even have an issue with the “raw milk” thing as long as it’s labeled as such. Sounds like (just from quick search) that would be 100% legal to sell at a farmers market in every state except Michigan. His issue is he’s shipping it, which is where it’s NOT legal at the federal level. On top of that, he shipped it and was tied to an outbreak and 1 death.

Not sure what the rules around meat processing are. Sounds like the listeria outbreak caught their attention and then they found he wasn’t following the law with livestock either. My take is the same there though. If he’s selling locally that should be legal or up to the locals to handle farmers markets. But if he’s “shipping” packaged product he needs to follow the laws of the land including USDA inspection and labeling.

At the end of the day the crux of the issue is this guy thinks he’s special and laws don’t apply to him.

Agreed. The problem is with the laws and who's enforcing them.

We don't need laws that protect us, we need freedom. And we sure as hell don't need any laws enforced by commie socialist Nazis. /s

I'm for food safety and a modern community with production standards designed to keep me from being killed by a hamburger or glass of milk. Call me a libby I guess.

Farmers can sell fresh produce that they grow to local comsumers without any USDA inspection because the produce is not processed in any way. Basically, it is fresh out of the garden or orchard. Once you start processing it, then the USDA will have oversight. Fresh meat and poultry have to be USDA inspected if it is sold to the general public.

While not zero the probability of dying from the vaccines is incredibly small. There have been an extremely small number of cases almost of which have been women of child bearing age dying from blood clots following administration of the Johnson and Johnson and Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines. For purpose of context there is a greater probability women in the age group developing fatal blood clots from hormonal birth control than from the vaccines. While there have been an extremely small number of instances in which people have died after receiving the mRNA vaccines, the deaths were most likely coincidental. Causation between the deaths and the vaccines was never established.
